Knicks Dynasty......HELP!!! (+ Questions)

Tue Jan 18, 2005 11:17 am

Im in the playoffs in my 1st season. I simulated a few games in the season though because 82 games was just too long to have to play EVERY one. 1 season would have taken me 6 months to complete at that rate.

I got Jamal Crawford in the 3pt contest and won it, but for some reason the only Knick in the dunk contest was TIM THOMAS. I had no real idea how to do it and got 31 on first dunk then couldnt even make the second attempt. Francis won it. Also traded Anderson and Norris for Sczerbiak which worked out ok but I am waiting really for the draft. Theres a 7ft forward or center I cant remember, who I got my eye on!

Have you managed to pull off any trades yet? Im still stuck way over the salary cap and my best player is rated 85 (Marbury). I take it this means that I cant trade for anyone higher than that so theres no chance of aquiring players like O'Neil, McGrady, Baron Davis, etc etc. which is really annoying. Any idea how you get round this?

Also when do players improve because I've had Nazr Mohammed starting ahead of Vin Baker and he's putting up good numbers, will his stats improve over the off season?

players have some type of package i can remember exactly but they already know how much they can improved i dont think stats have a lot to do with it. as for you trying to trade for a superstar you have to be very clever in what you offer your going to have to offer Marbury no doubt and make sure the salaries work within 20 %. New York is one of the hardest teams to manage in real life and in LIVE they are way over the cap and its really hard trading players with low rating and a HUGE salary. 8-)

Even when I lose Penny's $14m salary at the end of the season I'm still well over the cap so I won't be able to sign free agents. Does this mean I'll have to rely totally on rookies?

I'm really confused about my long term prospects here!

i would start trading your long contracts for 1yr left type contract and players with low ratings.

My owner is getting pissed that I arent scouting enough (I already know who I wanna draft) and that I dont spend enough points on training which I dont need to do cuz I been winning. I guess I'll need a championship ring to make him shut up

Got some guy called B.Long in the 1st season draft. He's a 7ft5 Center, incredible rebound ability because of this height, he can only get better. Did anyone else spot him before?

this series of trades bumped my knicks way up. i started by trading anderson and someone else w/ a similar ranking to the jazz for harpring.

this wasn't working for me though so i traded harpring and williams to the nets for R JEFFERSON. jefferson worked out so well because i love to alleyoop, and if i wanted tim thomas to still get decent minutes, i'd sub him in for kurt thomas occasionally.

but if this still doesn't satisfy you, trade jefferson and someone else to the rockets, they'll give you mcgrady! now, i love jamal crawford, but think about it: tim thomas, tmac and starbury in the starting line up? crawford becomes one hell of a 6th man, and frankly, i like to sub him in for marbury at pg spot. oh, if you ever figure out what the hell to do with allan houston, let me know because he's way overpaid and doesn't give results. anyway, you just have to look at what the other team is missing and try your best to match the total salaries.
