Retweet if you’re ready for a new NBA JAM!

I saw that the NBA Jam twitter account posted for the first time in a while the other day but I didn't think much of it but then take in to account the Android roster update the other week.

Update 14/2/2014
well turns out it was an unauthorised tweet

I'm hoping for something cool for the 20th anniversary of the game.. But when you look at what they did with the NHL '94 20th anniversary game mode (another one of my all time favorite sports games).. it's probably going to suck. Or maybe just an updated version of On Fire Edition. Hoping for the best but not getting my hopes up too high
Check out my NBA Jam 2k14 mod!

knowing EA, they'll just update OFE but after playing the TE update, I would like to see the return of injuries (and them affecting performance) and quarter substitutions.

That was unexpected, but hopefully it comes to fruition. Much as I like the sim games, I've always liked NBA Jam for a change of pace. I thought EA did a great job with On Fire Edition, to the point where it rivals Tournament Edition and Hangtime as my favourite game in the series (and favourite arcade basketball game in general).

That wouldn't be such a terrible thing if it's an enhanced and updated version of OFE, but if they are going to at least make some small updates to the gameplay, I definitely agree that adding injuries is a must. Without that, there's really no incentive to make substitutions unless you feel like a change of pace or you've put together a duo that doesn't match up well with your opponent. The CPU notably never makes substitutions in the 2010 reboot or OFE, so I'd like to see them add that wrinkle in any new games that come out.

That's a shame. Still, I hope it's something they keep in mind for next gen.
