To look forward to the 2010 battleground the czar decided to look back at Live 2005 and NBA 2k5.
Made good points about how the companies have swapped positions, but really nothing more than a bit of a hype video for the rest of the series.
Still a good watch though

I owned Live '05 for PC & NBA 2k5 for PS2 & preferred Live '05 hands down. Then again, I also refused to use freestyle control because I thought it was cheesey.
Fast forward a year, Live '06 for PC didn't feel as good as '05 & half a year later I played NBA 2k6 on the 360 & I was converted.
I do miss the styles of Live '04 & '05, as I thought the game was fun.

Those were good times, playing video games all day long, etc. Nevertheless, it's pretty amazing how far they've gone since then. Live 2000 vs 2K would have been cool to see aswell.

Great video, a good idea on Czar's part go back and take a look at the history of both series and the building rivalry before diving straight into the NBA Live 10 vs NBA 2K10 comparison.
I didn't play NBA 2K5 myself but I'd certainly agree that NBA Live 2005 was one of the strongest releases in the series. I still feel NBA Live 06 is a little underrated/underappreciated though, it wasn't too different from NBA Live 2005 with the noteworthy exception of Freestyle Superstars in NBA Live 06 and that certainly was hit and miss with most people. I liked the concept of FSS but it can be overpowering at times (on the other hand, it gave the user high percentage shots to combat ramped up AI when the comeback logic kicked in). 2005 and 06 are the last games I played extensively on the PC, given all the issues with 07 and 08.
