EA Locker down reasoning

There is a thread over at OS that says the EA Locker feature is down due to the ability to share accurate name and appearance rosters.

I wouldn't be too surprised if that was true due to those lawsuits. I was always surprised EA could get away with letting us add names and such to the players as is.

Unfortunate, but as you said it's surprising it hasn't been an issue until now.

There were server issues that are being corrected and that's why it was down. No one is preventing anyone from using their rosters and sharing it with anyone else.

EA can't be sued for user created content, I don't think.

well Activision can be sued if they allow recreations of real songs with GH Tunes.

Probably some loophole somewhere, the same one that's allowed us to distribute roster patches all these years.
