Title says it.
My concern is, how do I defend against picks?
I finally learned to effectively play on-the-ball D in the perimeter, e.g. staying with the ball-carrier, double-teaming, shutting the passing lanes; but I play like shite when a screen is called.
I always go around the screen but by the time I get there the offensive player already shoots and the shot usually goes in. When I don't go around the pick the ball-carrier goes straight to the hoop.
I'm sick and tired of Steve Blake making Baron Davis look like his personal bitch when I play the Warriors.
(I used to focus on post defense when playing any Live game and I somewhat excelled at it, imo. That means I get burned when human opponents go cheesy with the one player fastbreak by throwing a baseball pass or setting screens in half-court if I play perimeter D)
My pick problem applies to both human and cpu controlled opponents.

What I do is take advantage of the player setting the pic by moving towards the basket a bit to get the screen set farther away from the ballhandler. Once the screen is set, I quickly go back up to play defense. It has only worked against the cpu because the AI tells them not ot shoot while they are waiting for the screen.
You can always call a quick double team, or try some kind of zone defense or a trap.

I do the same thing, but usually I double-team and switch. Or I just bring a tall forward to contest the shot they usually take.

I try to avoid switching players and only control one player in playing D. That's why I have a hard time defending against picks.
The ball-carrier going to the hoop is less of a problem because the defense usually collapses on the player when he gets to the paint.
I'm really having a hard time when the offensive player shoots when the player I control in the defensive end is behind the screener, which as I mentioned the shot usually goes in.

I always switch, especially with the older Live games. In 2004 there was one animation that really forced you to switch in order to keep up, about 50-50 times you could go around and other times you were 'forced' to switch. I concentrate on offense more, it's just a video game for me.

Bragging rights are at stake when you play against human opponents. Trash talking is fun.

On Pc I always get tied up if I get double teamed, but when I call a double team, I can't tie up the CPU. Any tips as to how to pull that move off?

Increase the Double Team Effectiveness sliders under the User Sliders.
