Best Current (2K15-2K23) Gen 2K for PC?

Want to get a public opinion on this forum of how you would rank the 2K games we have on PC base on your experience and gameplay. With small summary why. Here's my list:

1. NBA 2K16 - the best gameplay in current gen! best arena lighting too IMO.
2. NBA 2K17 - v2 of 2K16, they fix some, they broke some. still a great experience overall!
3. NBA 2K15 - almost as good as 2K14 on PS4 or XBOX One.
4. NBA 2K19 - Best gameplay experience of the new engine.
5. NBA 2K22 - improvements over 2K21 and CPU AI improved a lot.
6. NBA 2K20 - Minor improvements over 2K19, but I still pick the latter. I can't stand the new Menu UI however, lol.
7. NBA 2K23 - improved gameplay/graphics over 22, but what happened to CPU AI? too many lazy work from 2K are found in some CF's.
8. NBA 2K21 - ...so what else is new?
9. NBA 2K18 - plays like a prototype of the new engine.

*If we had the current gen (PS4 or XBOX One) of NBA 2K14 on PC, I would had probably ranked it top 3. What's yours?

Meanwhile; NBA 2K24 ranking pending...

I'd probably rank them as follows...

1. NBA 2K17
2. NBA 2K16
3. NBA 2K19
4. NBA 2K15
5. NBA 2K20
6. NBA 2K23
7. NBA 2K22
8. NBA 2K21
9. NBA 2K18

There's not a lot between a couple of them, and I tend to agree with your assessment of them as well. I could probably swap 2K15 and 2K19 around, though my personal enjoyment of the latter does push it higher on my list. 2K22 and 2K23 are kind of interchangeable for me, while 2K21 felt somewhat incomplete. 2K18 being last is the easiest pick for me to make.

For me
2k15 or 16 depending my mood
2k17
2k20
2k19
2k18
2k23
2k22
2k21

Perhaps I should have played much more on 2k22 and 23

Aside from a few gripes with the gameplay, my biggest issue with recent games is how disposable they've felt. It's hard for me to truly get hooked on a game and some of the experiences on offer, when I know big chunks of it are going to be unavailable or at least very limited once the servers are shut down. Grinding for progress and rewards feels hollow, even if I can overlook the temporary/disposable nature of the games. Conversely, my NBA 2K14 PS4 MyCAREER is something that I've been able to keep picking up whenever I feel like it, and it's not going anywhere until I decide to retire that player.

I love the concept of MyNBA Eras in NBA 2K23, but unfortunately the inaccuracies and lack of attention to detail was a turn off. It takes a while for those issues to be fixed, whether I was to do it myself or wait for someone else to complete an accurate roster. By the time those rosters started to appear, I'd lost interest in NBA 2K23 and gone back to NBA 2K14 and other old favourites.
