Nah, I think Bullets had Tom Gugliotta & someone else. Muresan wasn't around I don't think when first NBA Jam came out.

Muggsy was already in Charlotte as well, though that would've been a fun duo to play with.
Thu Feb 18, 2010 8:57 am
Well, they only played one season together... which was like... 88-89 or something.
In original Jam, could u pick like Zo and Muggsy?
Thu Feb 18, 2010 9:23 am
In the original, the Hornets had Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning in all versions except the arcade, which paired LJ with Kendall Gill (according to Wikipedia, anyway; it's been a while). Tournament Edition had Mourning, Johnson and Muggsy as the default three, the unlockable expanded roster varying according to the version (I remember the PC version had more up to date rosters than the SNES version, for example).

Yeh, Larry, Zo, Muggsy.

Andrew, since you're a bball game guru... did Space Jam have an accompanying video game?

Muggsy was with Manute Bol at Bullets, not Muresan

Yes yes! How can I forget that! I even got them on a poster in my room.

Wait, so did Muresan ever play for Bullets? ANd if so, that means they had 2 of the tallest ever NBA players lol
Thu Feb 18, 2010 10:54 pm
Muresan did play for the Bullets. In fact, I'm guessing there was a brief overlap, Bol played a couple of games for the Bullets in the 1993/1994 season, Muresan's rookie year in Washington. At the very least they would've been on the roster at the same time, if not on the floor or at least active at the same time.

blog in which they talk about their own selections for this week's player picks.
My picks: KG, Pierce and Allen for the Celtics; Yao, Brooks and Martin for the Rockets; and Melo, Billups and Nene for the Nuggets.

with an arcade game like this you gotta have the birdman
really pisses me off that they are limiting themselves to 3 players
really pisses me off when all arcade sport games do nothing to help the user keep rosters updated
Tue Mar 02, 2010 11:25 am
I was strongly considering the Birdman, regretting my choice a little at the moment.

Don't worry, I made up for you. I voted for Birdman
Celtics: Garnett, Pierce & Allen
Rockets: Yao, Kevin Martin & Brooks
Nuggets: Birdman, Melo & Billups
Tue Mar 02, 2010 9:37 pm
I also worry that Ray Allen won't make it into the game due to votes for Rondo.....I dunno, this whole thing is rubbing me the wrong way.
I wonder who will round out the kings roster with Martin gone
Tue Mar 02, 2010 10:22 pm
Probably whomever finished fourth in the Kings poll, unless they go back and repeat a few polls for a few teams as necessary. It seems more likely they'd do the former though.
Wed Mar 03, 2010 5:00 am
Maybe if the game is successful they will release a more complete version with extra roster space.
Wed Mar 03, 2010 8:36 am
I'd like to think so, presumably they didn't buy the rights to the franchise just to release one game. There's already rumours that it won't stay a Wii exclusive forever and that it'll be available on the XBLA/PSN in time, so perhaps there'll be sequels after that with a wider array of features and expanded rosters.

Yes, it did, for the Playstation. And it's not that bad. (The basketball part. Plays better than Looney Tunes B-Ball imo.)

Played two games together:

Bol's second stint with the Bullets lasted only two games in the 1993-1994 season. There, he was signed not to play in games, but instead to help with the development of fellow 7 ft 7 teammate Gheorghe Muresan.
Fri Mar 05, 2010 5:26 pm
I'd agree Looney Tunes B-Ball was a pretty ordinary NBA Jam clone, I've never played Space Jam for the Playstation.
Fri Mar 05, 2010 6:08 pm
I didn't play it for long but I expected it to be absolutely retched, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Sat Mar 06, 2010 12:33 am
My picks:
Celtics- KG, Rondo, Pierce
Rockets- Brooks, Martin, Ariza
Nuggets- JR Smith, Melo , Birdman
Mon Mar 08, 2010 3:00 am
KG, Allen, Pierce
Yao, Martin, Brooks
Melo, Smith, Billups (so what if they don't have a big, it's an arcade game. They can shoot the lights out)
