What does LIVE mean in NBA?

I am kind of a foreigner and I don't understand difference between a NBA LIVE 2008 and a regular NBA 2008, what is the LIVE mean? I have a PSP right now and am trying to get cheap older versions of games so which should i get NBA LIVE 06 OR NBA 07, i dont care much about the roster , which do you think I should get?

Dont be bias, i heard live you can playonline and stuff but i rather prefer which game is actually better in the psp itself

One more question when I am online in PSP do i play the game itself against real player in the PSP OR COMPUTER?

The difference is that they are two completely different games. NBA Live 08 is a game made by EA Sports. NBA 08 is an entirely different game developed by Sony.

Well, the LIVE in NBA Live means that it is probably not as good a game as it should be. NBA Live is where mediocrity happens.

Anything that isn't called LIVE is probably better than NBA Live.
