Just like i did for the 2020´s OFE, i´m going to do a list of suggestions for additions to this mod (that´s how much your work means to me).
Considering this is a finished decade, and you have to take into account the covering of the 80´s, i´ll limit myself to either mention them on regards to a early 90´s rework or throw ideas regarding the roster.
Like i mention before, this ideas are going to focused around eras, and branding (if a team had a rebrand during this era, it would be interesting to see their jerseys or logo). In that case, i´ll also try to mention something that´s reasonable, meaning that the assets are already in this mod, or in vanilla OFE.
Well, here are my suggestions:
-Late 90's Hawks: considering it's mostly based around 96-97, I would suggest adding the other hawk that was an all star that season: Christian Laettner. Also Stacey Augmon could help with the period.
-Mid 90's celtics: i remembered that I suggested adding Dino Radja, considering he was the star most consistent during this period (2nd leading scorer in 94-95). I would even go as far as replace Parish for this team (he left the celtics in 94).
As far as the Antoine Walker era (late 90's): i agree with you, his duo with Pierce really peaks in 01-02.
-Early 90's Hornets: Nothing.
-Late 90's Hornets: Nothing, maybe add Anthony Mason.
-Early 90's Bulls: Nothing, maybe add BJ Armstrong considering he was an all star.
-Late 90's Bulls: Nothing, maybe Toni Kukoc considering he was the starter in 98 and another star of the team.
-Early 90's Cavs: I would add Larry Nance, and Craig Ehlo (the latter one because of Jordan).
I would also suggest creating a new team here: the mid-late 90's Cavs, with Terell Brandon and Tyrone Hill (they were a playoff team during this time, besides they had a different branding compared to early 90's): it could also have players like Shawn Kemp (98 all star), Danny Ferry or Bob Sura.
-Mid 90's Mavs: Nothing, perfect.
-Mid 90's Nuggets: This is a case where a third player would be weird considering that the duo clearly were better and the team wasn't that good but here are some suggestions: Dale Ellis, Robert Pack, Reggie Williams, or a young Jalen Rose (the latter could be used for Pacers).
-Mid 90's Pistons: Nothing.
-Early/mid 90's Warriors: Nothing, perfect.
-Early 90's Rockets: I feel that Vernon Maxwell should be on this team, besides that players like Otis Thorpe (could be used in other teams) and Mario Elie (also for Late 90's rockets) could work (probably replacing a rookie Sam Cassell), but the roster it's pretty good nonetheless.
-Late 90's rockets: I would Replace Kevin Willis (he could stay) with either: mario Elie, or Scottie Pippen (to reflect the experiment after Drexler's retirement).
-Mid/Late 90's Pacers: Like I mentioned before, considering the difference in jerseys, and the fact that both 94-95 and 97-98 are pretty important seasons for the 90's Pacers, I would divide the team in two: an early/mid 90's Pacers (players like MARK JACKSON, Dale Davis would work, or Detlef Schrempf and Chuck Person for an early 90's focus), and the late 90's could add Jackson, Davis, Antonio Davis, and a young Jalen Rose.
-Early/mid 90's Clippers: add mark Jackson as the third player.
-Mid/late 90's Lakers: I would add the other all star of the 98 season: NICK VAN EXEL. That way, you can have a duo with him and Eddie Jones that represents the pre Shaq era.
-Early 90's Heat: Nothing.
-Late 90's Heat: Probably add a Heat Jamal Mashburn.
-Mid/Late 90's Bucks: you could add Vin Baker as the third Player.
-Late 90's Timberwolves: this team could add another all star of the era: Tom Gugliotta.
Here's where I would suggest adding a team with no merit outside their jerseys, already present in Vanilla OFE: An early 90's Wolves with Chuck Person, Christian Laettner and Isaiah Rider, like in the original NBA Jam.
-Early 90's Nets: Nothing.
Regarding your post referring to a Kerry Kittles late 90's Nets: I would personally consider adding them. They're not a priority, but you can have a team different to what we would see in the 2000's (Kendall Gill, Kittles, Sam cassell, Keith Van Horn, even Seikaly as a filler).
-Early/mid 90's Knicks: This is a team that needs more players. They took MJ to seven and were one game away from being champions! CHARLES OAKLEY is the clear third player, then players like Anthony Mason and Doc Rivers/Derek Harper/Mark Jackson (either one) could work.
-Late 90's Knicks: Nothing, perfect representation of the 99 cinderella run.
-Mid 90's Magic: Nothing. I mentioned Scott Skiles in the past considering it's already in vanilla OFE, but the roster doesn't need him necessarily.
-Early 90's 76ers: this one is tricky regarding a third player (Barkley had no help besides Hawkins). I have two ideas: either Rick Mahorn, or Dawkins.
Regarding the final team that didn't make the cut (late 90's 76ers): i would add them, even though they didn't make the playoffs. A trio of young Iverson, Derrick Coleman and Jerry Stackhouse sounds like a fun team, and different to what we would see in the 2000's.
-Early 90's Suns: nothing, maybe Cedric Ceballos or Ainge but that's me being greedy.
-Late 90's Suns: maybe hot rod Williams, or mcdyess, or Rex Chapman, or Clifford Robinson, or a young Steve Nash, there are some options.
-Early 90's Blazers: JEROME KERSEY should be the third player of this roster, also Clifford Robinson could help.
-Late 90's Blazers: this team was STACKED: i'll suggest adding Stacey Augmon and Isaiah Rider.
-Mid 90's Kings: After seeing the branding (95-96 onwards), i'll suggest Olden Polynice as a third player for this roster.
-Mid-late 90's Spurs: Now this is a team that covers itself in the entire decade! Me being a greedy guy that wants more accuracy, i'll suggest splitting the team between the mid 90's one with Rodman and the late 90's with Duncan. Besides that, Avery Johnson is the only addition this team could use.
-Mid 90's Sonics: I would replace Hawkins with Vin Baker (to reflect the post Kemp years) and I would create an early 90's version of the sonics, with Ricky Pierce and Nate Mcmillan supporting payton and kemp).
-Late 90's Raptors: as a third player, doug Christie could work, other options being young t-mac and Dee Brown.
-Late 90's Jazz: Nothing, maybe Byron Russell (because of Jordan).
Like I mentioned in a previous message, the Jazz should have an early 90's version with Mark Eaton as the third player.
-Late 90's Grizzlies: shareff abdur Rahim is the clear answer.
-Mid/late 90's bullets: juwan Howard should be the third player, or why not, a young Ben Wallace.
Now referring to the 80's teams: i understand that you wanted to include them because of the shorts, but I think they, in a way, take space of the 90's roster possibilities. After mentioning that, i'll try two things here. Either:
A)Mentioning a potential missing player.
B)A possible "early 90's rework" (most of the teams here could keep their stars).
-Late 80's Hawks: maybe add Doc Rivers. Besides that, if it ever became an early 90's Hawks, it could use the following lineup: Wilkins-Blaylock-Willis-Augmon.
-Mid/late 80's Celtics: perfect, maybe Danny Ainge (being greedy here). Besides that, if it were to become an early 90's version, you can keep all of this roster, and adding one player that's key to early 90's Celtics basketball: REGGIE LEWIS (RIP).
-Late 80's Pistons: perfect roster, but needs a young DENNIS RODMAN to represent the 90's (you could use this team+Rodman as an early 90's pistons).
-Mid 80's rockets: difficult to have a third player here, i would suggest Allen Leavell, Lewis Lloyd and maybe even Sleppy Floyd to represent the post Sampson era.
-Late 80's Lakers: maybe add Bryon Scott and Cooper (an early 90's version would have: Johnson-Worthy-Divac-Scott).
-Early/mid 80's 76ers: Replace Dawkins with Mo Cheeks, or Barkley (this roster spot could be used for the late 90's 76ers).
-Early 80's Spurs: Add Larry Kenon as the third player
Now, I understand that every suggestion here is probably impossible without the ATTRIBDB editing available, and that I'm suggesting too much, but I just want to give ideas for what I think could make this amazing mod for my favourite NBA game into a better experience.
Sorry if I may become more demanding, but now that your work means the world to a guy who never expected to see such mods for this game.
Thank you very much for being you, and I hope this serves as any kind of help.
