College Hoops 2k8 Feature

With NCAA Basketball 2010 just around the corner, I thought I should do a little bit of a feature on a basketball title that did so many things right, College Hoops 2k8. Please follow the following link and if you can stand its length, please read and comment.

You're probably wondering what relevance this has to EA's college title, well its for comparative purposes. College Hoops 2k8 did a lot of things right, specifically the legacy mode and the amount of customisation available for the gamer, and I don't think I speak only for myself, that I hope a good chunk (hopefully 75-80%) of these features makes it across to EA's title.

I believe EA's NCAA basketball series has the making of greatness, with improving gameplay and presentation, however to take it to the next level, it must look back at what's worked and has not worked for itself and its competitors.

as i said on the main page, amazing job, CH2k8 is truly something to behold when it comes to great gameplay and features in a basketball game.

Even though I'm a much bigger fan of the NBA than NCAA, I'm always disappointed that I'm unable to give the college basketball games a try. Aside from the obvious differences between the pros and college, I think I'd be freed up to enjoy the game even more with fictional players (or fictionalised versions of amateur players) as I wouldn't be getting caught up in thinking that this player shouldn't be scoring 40 points, that player doesn't look quite right and so on.

That's not to say I don't appreciate accuracy or would like NBA Live to take that approach, but that's one of the things that would make an NCAA title very appealing to me. Too bad I've got a 360, otherwise I'd import.

Andrew if you love old school legends from the NBA you should get NCAA 10

I'm going to recreate all those guys and put them back in college on their respective teams and then you can use them in dynasty mode.

Jordan, Perkins, Worthy, Stackhouse, Jimmy Black, Kenny Smith, Montross, Brad Daughterty, Jamison, Felton and Handsborugh. Imagine a UNC team with all those players on one squad going through a dynasty season. That is the main reason why i'm getting NCAA 10 this year and they are using the Live engine.

I never played CH2K8 but everyone seems to love that game.

I'd get it but as I said, I've got a 360 so I can't import it.
