Is it just me or one of Live's biggest flaws in this generation has been the fact that the computer AI of your uncontrolled teammates are as dumb as rocks?

You should see 2k8's teammate AI. Try to drive one on one from the perimeter and watch your post players stand in your way staring at you. Eventually they get out of your way, but seem a bit retarded by the time they do. Don't even discuss last-gen teammate AI, it barely has CPU AI as it is.

I've never seen Player Lock as a viable option for that very reason. Even though certain games in the series have seen some improvement here and there (moreso on the 360/PS3 than the PC in recent years) it's left up to the user to make things happen. That's not to say I don't understand the appeal of the Player Lock function but it's never really appealed to me.

I think Live's AI has been bad for years. Just watch some videos @ youtube, be it 2005, 06 or whatever.
AI players just stand there and watch the opposing team score.
You can also trick the AI by NOT using turbo and running towards the basket straight away but you can run along the court's "out of bounds line" and cut to the basket from the side without turbo. The AIs just walk near you and watch you score.
