Testers Needed
Have you noticed that the frame rate in 07 is lower than 06 and 2005? Notice how the game kinda gets choppy and forces you to play on lower detail settings than you used to in 06? I may have found a solution. PM me if you want to help me test a fix for this.

You need:
~to understand where the sgsm folder is (because thats where these files go)
~Fraps, or some other way of figuring out your frames per second
~and a computer that allows you to play with player detail on max

looking forward to hearing from some people to see if this works.

You actually found a solution to fix the frame rate?

Sat Nov 25, 2006 12:07 pm

its working for me

check your PM and tell me if it works for you

if it crashes or doesnt work just delete the files from the sgsm

Sat Nov 25, 2006 12:52 pm

can you send it to me too plz?

Sat Nov 25, 2006 1:06 pm

Sat Nov 25, 2006 1:12 pm

Sat Nov 25, 2006 1:29 pm

Jao may i also try it?i would love to be a beta tester.I run everything on Max

Sat Nov 25, 2006 1:36 pm

I'd be glad to help if you PM.

Sat Nov 25, 2006 5:53 pm

PM me too, I'm really glad to help you (Y)

Sat Nov 25, 2006 6:10 pm

Since I've got a medium-low spec. here.
I may represent as a low-end feedback. lol

Anyway, I would like to try it, too.

Sat Nov 25, 2006 7:23 pm

New Computer!
Ready to test! Please send it to me! (Y) 8-)

Sat Nov 25, 2006 7:55 pm

please send to me also.ill test it

Sat Nov 25, 2006 9:58 pm

I'm running with a comp that runs on the borderline of smoothness for 06 and at a barely playable framerate of 15 fps on 07 so if you still need any testers I'd gladly participate as the difference would be easily recognizable on my machines specs.

BETAs sent out, thanks everyone who offered.

looking forward to hearing 13 replies (please keep them in the PM system, not in this thread)

Could you send the beta this way as well? Would love to test it out, don't have another PC to test it on but I can monitor the difference through system perfomance monitor for sure.

So.. Any news? If thirteen got it there should be some kind of feedback in here I think. And why keep it behind the scenes anyway and not just let everybody who wants, try it out?

Anyways, if it works, it'll receive quite a lot of thumbs up's.

Because, if it works...then he'll do a mass release. It's just easier to let a select few have it and work out the bugs before releasing and having 982348972 people say that something is wrong.

Aight well I uploaded it,

It makes 07 use 06's player models which are lower in poly counts. This should improve gameplay FPS but it might not.

The BETA testers came back basically 50/50 on it, some people got an improvement of about 5-15 FPS (same as me) and some people found no difference at all (like Pdub). No one had worse framerate so that is why I am releasing this.

Remember, it might and it might not work.

What I've been working on lately
Total Courts v2
Better (lo-res) court textures
Accurate Courts
2d hi-res crowd for better performance (and cause the 3d crowd looks bad)

About 5 different street courts
2003 Beach Court
Brighton Beach
JaoSming Stadium v2
The Yard (Detroit)
Daytime Urban
Downtown v2

I've decided I'm pleased with my lighting file so that is now the final version.
Also the Street Dunk Contest will not be updated, I'm happy enough with the way that came out.

Other Things
2d Crowd
Court templates
Simple Tutorial for renaming courts
Main Menu
a couple of Videos
and the NCAA 06 mod

As you can see I'm pretty busy and I had move back into the dorms yesterday which is why I didn't post this fix earlier. Feel free to ask questions about anything I just mentioned or if your having issues with my downloads.

I don't really get what's going on with the framerates - haven't tried your patch but it randomly slows down when I'm crossing midcourt, and is fine the rest of the time. Live shouldn't be too much work for my 7900 GT, so it's probably some silly EA thing.

I turned off V-Sync so it wouldn't cap my FPS at 60, figuring it would eliminate the problem, but that didn't work either.

Thanks for the patch Jao and...

Jao, your lighting patch is fantastic, IMO the most realistic so far. You don't even have to use the replay for a close up, the player skins look amazing while playing (especially the tats). I wouldn't change a thing (Y) (Y)
