what if there is a player that has great passing ability but he is still more of a scorer, than a passer. you might not want to reduces his scoring.

Yes, that would be true. But. Look at LeBron this year, he passes alot and thus his scoring has taken a hit. I'm not talking about big numbers here, but the thing is that if a player gets a ball, he has two choices. Try to score, or try to help another player score. If one favors the other then the other gets a hit. And since there's no 31PPG 10APG player in the league right now, it makes sense in a way.
I mean just a minor change in primacy depending on offensive awareness and passing, nothing big.
