I think this thread is quite valid considering the quality of product EA put out this year...or lack thereof.

To Gundy, I think if Live fixes the major bugs in the game, it'll be quite enjoyable. As it is, I'm enjoying the play of it, if I set aside the subbing and PG dominance (which, as I get better at defense, I am limiting more and more -- in fact PGs aren't scoring nearly as much on me, but while they are still taking a majority of the shots, they're not making nearly as many of them -- a bug to fix the shooting issue will make this game a joy, for me).

I really doubt they would somehow make a patch for the PS2. The only way I think their gonna do something like that would be something similar to roster updates on the PS2. Not sure how roster update downloads work on the PS2 seeing as I've never done it before and I lack an online adapter. I'm deciding as to should I wait it out and see if they're gonna do anything for the PS2 (I highly doubt it) and then borrow my friend's PS2 which has an online adapter, or should I just trade it in for 2k7.

Lol at you want a medal for that!

Man I feel sorry for PC guys who dont use a console, only if you got 2k7 on PC, you would see how amazing of a sim game this can be regarding to dynasty/association and gameplay. Wow 2k7 amazing and wow live 07 horrible. I cannot wait for NFL 2k11

I'm not sure, but I think that they can make an option to download it from the EA Online site, when you connect it from the PS2.

this is the only reason i still get live, and i think EA fully is aware of this. if the 2k series started making thier game for the pc i would jump ship so damn fast. i have not returned or gotten rid of my copy of live, but i did quit playing it already. only fun i have with it is in simulation and even that is way off. seems like every year i end up saying ea needs to get thier act straight or they will lose people, seems they are smarter than me as they can continue to screw us (pc owners) over and still get our money as there is no comp on the pc

This Game was a bunch of crap! I tried to excuse all the bugs but I coluldn't get past it. Everytime I played I damn near wanted to sling the disc across the room.
After the 3rd day, I took Live back and bought 2K7 and was blown away! (Although I haven't quite learned how to play it) ;-)

Are They gonig to put out a fixed bug game for the PS2?

Patch or no patch... the game is crap... remember how many people tried to fix 06 just to make the game up to par? This one is just trash. Much love to all the patch makers in this forum tho... Live 06 was a much better game because of you! Unfortunately, EA just doesn't care anymore... People have to send petitions just for them to release a patch to fix issues that should have been fixed before release. Its tiring to try to convince myself the the game is decent to play... but everytime I play 2k7 its just a way different gameplay all together. Farewell Live...

The game will still suck (in my opinion) even after this patch. Furthermore, I am disgusted that EA would release such a pile of garbage, I honestly don't feel like supporting them any more.

Understandable...
That's the first time I really feel like smahing my head in a door while playing Live 07. The previous ones were far from perfect, but they were playable, with not too many bugs (at least not as handicaping as these). Whatever's good and fun with this one is always offset by the crappy bugs and the overall nonsense...
I really hope that the patch will help but I still doubt that I'll give any money to EA next year. (N) (N) (N)

I've never been online with the PS2 to download or to play online so I wouldn't know these things, so I'll take your word for it. Though I don't have an online adapter (only way I'll be able to download a PS2 patch IF THEY EVEN MAKE ONE is to borrow my friend's PS2). Like Donatello said, I'm disgusted that they even released this crap in the first place. Why couldn't they just make it with all the fixes they are mentioning in the patch in the first place, in the FINAL product? Glad to see the PC players will have a chance to probably enjoy the game, but for a PS2 player like me, these fixes will be unavailable to the PS2 version. I'll probably most likely be trading this in for FIFA 07, NFS Carbon (if it turns out to be good), or Bully.

What sort of things do you take issue with after the patch? I think it will be right on target for what I expected.

-only 82 game dynasty mode
-Point guard domination
-The control changes
-The new free-throw shooting method (I just plain don't like it)
-Inability to reorder rosters for my own purposes
-The terrible cutscreen
-Kerr's commentary STILL being out of place and making no sense far too often

I could go on, but I'm headed out the door.

NBA LIVE 07
System: PC
Store: EA Store
Price: $41.95

Verdict: I regret buying this game. I haven't been this pissed off at a game since Dakitana 5 years ago. This game runied my DVD player and forced me to have a new one put in, and gathered dust for a motnh as I talked to EA about what to do with this defective product. I sent it back today. If the patch goes well, I might buy it in like 6 months from somewhere other then the EA Store when the price is under $10.00 or something.

You didn't know bigh0rt? The DVD version contains a little group of elite secret operatives. Upon entering your DVD tray they disembark from the DVD itself and lay siege to your DVD drive. Then once that's complete they plant a timed C4 charge and get the heck out of dodge. True story.

And believe me, in 6 months I can most certainly see NBA Live 07 being below 10 dollars in the bargain bin or online. Why? Pre-owned. I can garuntee you that there's going to be a truckload of disgruntled owners attempting to get rid of their copy of NBA Trash 07 and dump it on someone else, for.. oh.. 9.99. Infact, if that was me.. I can't really justify how I could ask for more for this game (at least in 6 months from now).

i got rid of the game. finally. i couldn't stand it anymore. even with jimmys pg domination fix and the patch from ea, this game sucks. you can't reapair it. the gameplay sucks no matter what you do.

i played today my final game. ridnour with 23 points, zero assists and 30 attempted shots. allen and lewis with 15 attempted each. swift and wilcox with 15 rebounds in 15 minutes and whole team with 25 off rebounds. wtf? i had 12. when you put the shooting sliders up, you have unrealistic, and way too much points. if you tone it down, you have realistic percentages and scores, but way too much rebounds.

without the dropstep functionality, even a kobe can't blow by wilcox in a mismatch situation. instead some funky, idiotic freestyle shit animation shows up.

lowpost moves can be forgotten, because first, there are no moves, second, always if you pass to your big man downlow, three players going to duble you.

spacing sucks, no real plays. executed too slow.

man, i wish there were other basketball games for pc. the only thing i use in live now is unrealistic too fast allstar games, and for simulation issues. i can't wait for nba 2k7 being released here in germany...
