NBA Live PC --- First post Updated 1/5

Ok everyone, I want to start a community project for a NBA Live game. Pretty much I want to update one of the games so good that we won't have to buy NBA Live 09 if we don't want to. It would be a complete overhaul of everything, menus, gameplay ai, simulation stats, textures ect. Also, I would rather not have this be a "team" project, but rather a "community" project where anyone and everyone can release stuff for this mod and be a part of it all at once.
Remember you can get my very BETA basic Update for this mod right here. This is meant for people who know how to manually install these patches and are planning to help out and create new patches for this mod.

I am thinking 04 (never played it but sounds good because you can edit almost everything) or one of the new ones like 05,06 or 08.
Graphics and gameplay. If we are going to make an updated version I say we make graphics a high priority. We all wanted the "next-gen" version right? If you have a crappy PC you can just play with default graphics. 2004 sounds like a good version to edit but I doubt many people will want to go back that far.

SUM was more team oriented, this would be a checklist of things to be done and let anyone work on it when they wanted to. Other than that, it'd be a lot like SUM

oo yeah and realistic generated rookies woudl be good too. Like 6'6 SG & SF instead of 5'11

i think 08 is much better to be modded coz it has the latest physic engine and i like the way the players block animation

by the way
1: i have all the version of nba live
2: definitely 08 or 04
3: better ai , realistic moves next gen graphics and most of all facial reactions and animations

I would like to see one of the later games modded because it would be easier to buy.
If you think simming is important live 08 shouldn't be your selection for live to be updated.
The sim engine can be improved but there will always be huge mistakes.
As how i see it the game to be updated has to be 07.

2008 definitely. It seems like this edition has the best potential, as it has the best graphical engine, along with all the features from the previous years (more or less).
What is the most important aspect for you when playing NBA Live?
It's the "perfect" mix of graphics and gameplay combined. When 2008 wasn't released, the 07 with SUM Mod really did it's job perfectly. Leaving 2008 as it is now it's quite unplayable in the long run. Too many stupid AI moves, the gameplay really has to be improved.

I appreciate that you come up with this idea, and you must feel the same way with me that the PC version is getting worse in recent years.
I haven't played those previous versions for a long time so I can't remember how they are. Maybe my standard is low, but I think if you can modify the "rebounding" of 07 and make it realistic, the existing patched 07 is a fun one for me.
