Crossover question

I've got a question concerning one of the crossovers in Live 06. If your player is standing still and you tap the right analog up, the player does the move where he fakes driving and switches the ball between hands (is this the drop step?), and if you hold the left analog towards the basket, then the player drives toward the hoop. My question is, how can I control which direction the player drives (right, left) after the crossover? I've done it a few times by accident, but I don't know how I did it. I hope that made sense.

No, that's not the drop step. You can execute a drop step by pressing the Pro Hop button. If you're standing still you'll execute one rather than a jump stop (the Pro Hop) or if you're using a player with a low dribbling rating they'll always perform one.
