Still Live is the only game on the PC... So it really doesn't matter what it is good for.

There will never ever be a totally realistic basket ball simulation made for the PC. Until they can add what makes Shaq tick in a real game and how does Dwayne Wade think about his next moves. And before you can really feel the dunk on you when it hits you, it ain't going to be real.

Live has something wrong in it, so does your precious ESPN... A bit arcadish touch is a good thing in the end. I love simulation don't get me wrong, but the game has to be entertaining and Live has always succeeded in that in my books...

I want to play a realistic game that is also entertaining... If the game does not entertain you, you won't play it as much. That much is certain...

And have you ever asked how much of the gameplay problems are due to your playing style and moves and decisions you make while you control the players???

I can tell for sure that there are some problems within the game that come up due to my poor use of the players I use.

The thing is, this is an NBA Live fansite so some of us are going to be less critical or perhaps look at some things with rose coloured glasses. At the very least, there'll be folks in the forum who do enjoy the games and see what we perceive to be good improvements each year.

Some of the backlash to the griping can be attributed to comments that are often directed at people who enjoy the game. In the past, unflattering terms such as "EA asskisser" have been lobbed, as well as the suggestion that anyone who enjoys the game is stupid or whatnot. No matter which side of the debate you're on, expressing an opinion so aggressively is going to meet with some backlash.

Not to accuse you of any such thing, but it does happen (some of the discussions about NBA Live 2001 did not do much for the community spirit) so some of the long time members have grown a bit weary of it; thus any conversation that looks to be heading in that direction usually draws that kind of negative feedback.

On another note has anyone seen the screenshots of Andrew Bogut in Live 06? He looks like something out of Night of The Living Dead, truely horrific graphics. Anyways, hopefully we'll get more Live 06 info soon, and not just video's of people dunking.

I agree, as long as he have the sliders the game will be alright. It's all about adding features or improving features, problems start when EA starts taking out some features: for example: chance to save during game, create a team option, and Clutch ratings. All this features were removed and people is still complaining about it, me too.
I want the game to be more realistic everyday, gameplay should be improved the most, graphics are and always will be a nice accesory, the main feature is the gameplay.
The game should more customisable each version, I wish NBA 06 will have more sliders and will add some tendencies ratings, I know it is bound to happen someday, but I guess it won't happen for NBA 06.
EA is still focusing too much on graphics and that bothers me somehow. However, competition ESPN crew included, are far behind even in terms of gameplay, I played ESPN's game in PS2 and I found it very dissapointing, I'd rather stay with my NBA Live 05 cos by editing some players and working on the sliders I got a decent simulation of a basketball game. ESPN was unable to do so. ;)
Let's wait and see what EA brings on this year, high expectations are as bad as the low expectations of the main responsible of this thread.

With sliders we can play the game at the pace we like to play. Pistons fan can have 62-65 game, and phonix fans can play 123-125.
NBA Live 2003 is the best game ever made.

but sliders can't alter the ugly movement animations. Its like the players are doing the robot.
