Shot Styles.

Hello guys.

One thing was disturbing me all over the years of LIVE- and that's the shot- and i'm talking about the different type of it- when it hits the rim.

I mean- I ain't wanna only one kind of swish! think about it! there are a lot types- like- 1st the nothing but net, 2nd is the one that hits the rim- but still goes nothing but net(you know what i mean)- 3rd is the one that hits the rim only and doesn't even touches the net but goes in, etc..

but leave that. all my "playing career" with Live- i haven't seen any "in&out" shots, nor "long rebound shots"- haven't even seen the shots which roll on the rim for couple a sec and then dive in..

I know it won't be included in this years' live- but I damn hope to find it inda new-gen game..
I think major improvements should be done at this section- in order to make live a realistic game.

I think the problem is that the ball is not separate from the player for most of the time in NBA Live. This was why FIFA was originally MUCH more unrealistic compared to Winning Eleven. Winning Eleven had the ball separate from the player so it moved realistically. Although it is very difficult to put the ball separate from the player, I believe it is needed so that the ball has realistic physics. Even Freestyle, an online basketball game in Korea has more types of shots than NBA Live. They go in and out, they bounce off the rim in various ways (short and long) and each of those rebounding patterns need to be memorized in order to get the rebounding correctly. I wonder if they'll ever fix this though...
Bored.

Long rebounding has been needed for a long time....long rebounds start fast breaks or result in offensive rebounds where teams reset the offense (which will result in less shots and more realistic stats)

I would love to see with the next gen games a change in the ball physics.....especially with passing speeds and rebounds.

There are shots that go in and out or bounce on the rim a couple of times, but I agree it would be nice to see them more often. Other games have taken it to the extreme though. I remember playing the original Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside on the Nintendo 64, one of the few times I've bought another game in addition to the current NBA Live. Pretty much every shot rattled in or bounced around the rim before dropping in.

Agreed for both. Especially with the long rebounds. It's not too hard to create--long shots increase the chances of a long rebound.

Haha, so true. When I read the original post of this thread, Kobe Bryant Courtside was the first thing to come to mind. But I do agree, Live would benefit A LOT from some different sorts of rebound opportunities.
