I posted about it on the main-page. Nice find (y)

I noted that they said that one of the companys was 'Sony Computer Entertainment America'. Is that computer (PC) games or video games in general?

Good news. NBA Live and NBA Street can continue as long as EA intends on producing both.

I agree that it is great. If nothing else, the competition will keep the prices lower.

Remember last year when ESPN Football became so popular at only 20$, EA lowered the price of Madden.

In terms of 5-on-5 simulations, Sony, EA Sports, and Take-Two Interactive will all compete with new titles on a yearly basis, Atari will continue to publish Backyard Basketball, while NBA Ballers and NBA Street will alternate years to provide arcade hoop fans a new experience every season.

Does this deal mean that Michael Jordan, Kareem and others elite players will be on the name from now on?

There are no guarrantees on MJ, Kareem and etc. on coming to the game. This deal basically changes very little...

Only guarrantees competition for years to come... The legend situation is no different than before. Some players names are not registered with the NBAPA and that means that the license does not cover guys like Kareem...

The league does not have authority to give permission to give these guys names to be used in the games... The deals have to be separate and probably will not happen...

Too bad... If I was a BBall legend, I'd give permission to use my name in any game... But that's probably cause my name does not carry any signifigance and no ones willing to pay me to use it in a game... Or anywhere else for that matter.

We always complained Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the all-time leading scorer not being in the game and this year he was included but then EA decided to take out the other great one - Michael Jordan- this is so frustating.

Again, EA did not decide to take Michael Jordan out. His contract expired, he's not part of the retired player's union, thus he cannot be included unless he signs another contract. As he's free to name his price, it may be more than is willing to pay.
