if i can find a new copy of 06 , i would like to join up in bring my arena updates with me. Its sound like i could put higher textures in to the file with out issues with 06.

well, "technically" you dont have to buy it since anything you make in 07/08 will work directly in 06.
for anyone who is trying to find a copy, you are most likely going to have to buy it online or find it on ebay

Or the bargain bin in a shop that sells videogames.

yea i know but i think i would rather be playing with 06 then 08, because i have alot of issues with player updates and my arena updates not playing nice and causeing crashes. And from what i have read that we not be an issue with 06. I rather have top looking arena courts players shoes and uniforms all working together and cause me to decide what i can have in quailty.

Maybe in π that is true but I have never seen a bargain bin of PC games in the States....ever

They used to have bargain bins at GameStop and EB Games, but not sure what happened to them. Usually for older games $10 or less.

True. I just lol everytime I see a crappy game under the tag of "EA Classics" everytime I browse for games.

It seems to be readily available at Amazon for a decent price.

ok, I've got a question that I don't think has been answered... Yet.
What are the art -related limitations with 06? In other words: how do we make the game crash? 07 and 08 had the combo of 2xtats + 2xjerseys + high res courts. We could only use two of these at the same time.
I've understood that the jerseys aren't a problem since the jersey's numbers are in some way different. Does this mean we don't have any art limitations?
Could we have: 1024x1024 jerseys, 512x512 tattoos, 512x512 shoes and high-res (I don't remember the exact resolutions) courts at the same time?
I know gameplay is the priority and for example the sig shots can't be imported, but hey, glamour is always nice.
And I know there's a nerd who's been testing this stuff

(take no offence for the word "nerd", whoever has the answer to my question)

My understanding is that there aren't any conflicts or if there are, 2x shouldn't be a problem.
Thu May 29, 2008 7:47 am
everything released so far even 1024 jerseys should work with no issue
I was able to make 06 crash with 1024x512 resolution 2d crowd files which are strung all over the arena. But the buffer zone we have with 06 is huge compared to 07/08 so dont worry about conflict crashes with the high resolution stuff.

I remember there were conflicts that appeared. For instance, people were getting crashes and they were blaming one patch or another, because when they removed it the crashing stopped. I remember people blaming the shoes patch or the tnt mod, even the sweat patch.
Thu May 29, 2008 8:20 pm
Allright. I guess we just have to try and see what happens.
Could it also be related to how good pc you've got? I remember some talk that it's all about the game and not your pc... Am I right?
Also, we should try to make the files as small as possible. I don't know about other files, but with tats resizing the bhed with fshX makes the file bigger.
For example, I've seen arm and leg tat files over 1MB, when they should be 64kb and 256kb (right?). At least when doubling the image size, FshX creates two different images and two alpha layers inside the .fsh. When opening the file with fshline you can see this.
I haven't done any real research on whether this affects the game's speed or anything, but 50x256KB is way smaller than 50x1MB in your sgsm -folder.

I'd like to think that we are a little more mature now (even if your damn 2x sweat arms is crashing my game:twisted: ...and its not my 1024 courts because they werent crashing before i installed your patch)
I dont think that computer specs would control it but I could be wrong there, we will probably "find" specifically what this limit is during the course of this mod.

The thing is, we'll be testing everything extensively before we call a release v1.0 so if we run into any problems we're not going to just release the mod with those issues and leave it at that.
Fri May 30, 2008 8:58 pm
the aiact is pretty much done. some tweaks here and there should finish it.
Fri May 30, 2008 9:11 pm
are you also updating the game play shaft? cuz i might help you in editing it

isn't it a better idea to release a beta version..before releasing the final v1.0?so we can help you people addressing any issues that may arise..

My point is that if the art was causing crashes, the matter would be troubleshooted and resolved before a v1.0 is released. That process will probably take the form of some beta releases. In any case, we wouldn't release a v1.0 without any sort of testing.

i only worked on the moves and animations. nothing else and for my AIACT to work properly the dunkpacks have to be the same as the original NBA LIVE 06 roster. This may be a very important point since we dont want mike bibby to do 360's and stuff like that.

Nice idea to make this project.. too bad I don't own 06
I'm not sure if they're compatible, but feel free to include my tattoos (posted on the 08 forum).
