ok great.......i have just messed around with t a little bit. it is indeed editable. I managed to put down a power dunk in the normal pack of james posey once again.

However when i tried to put a normal dunk as an alley oop the game crashes. The dunk goes through and it looks good, but it crashes right after it goes in.

what's the problem?

as i said in the dunk.act tutorial you need to pay attention to the "DUNK_REG;n;-;x;-;-;x;" parts of the dunk line.

Basically what is happening is the ;n;-;x;-;-;x; is wrong. For instance, you took a dunk that doesnt have the player hang on the rim and yet the parameter underlined here (;n;-;x;-;-;x;) requires the player to hang on the rim.

yeah i think tha tmust be it, but they were basically the same dunk. the normal 1 foot 2 handed alley oop that i replaced with the long 1 foot 2 handing floating dunk. neither hang on the rim. but that must be it.

and another question. how do i put a dunk from live 07 in live 06? is this possible?

nope, 07/08's animations are a different encrypted format of 2003-06's.

not for 03, but 04, 05, and the March madness anis will work.

you have to check each value in the dunk.acts and manually put them into 06. the dunk.act tends to change formats year after year.

EDIT: http://www.nbaliveforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=53800

that roster works, it needs created players though, so I dunno.

how about the blocks? can we edit the live 2005 inside blocks in live 06?

i looked at the block.act of both and they are identical besides from the fact that live 06 block.act has superstar blocks in them.

so how come in live 2005 we could block guys from directly under the rim and in live 06 the lay ups and dunks always go in? that reverse unblockable lay up in live 06 is annoying as hell.

in live 06 smaller guys are able to block shots, lay ups and dunks....in live 2005 there were a lot of blocks from everwhere but under a certain height you could not block lay ups and dunks.

any i deas on how to put blocks of live 2005 in live 06?

yeah but then still PGs can dribble around get close and go for a normal lay up or other bigmen can just go for easy close dunks and lay ups all game.

i tried putting all of the blockcodes that were in the DUNK.act of live 2005 in the dunk.act of live 06 and what happened was that all dunk and lay ups were removed from the game and all they did was the weird floater off 2 legs and one hand.

...i was under the impression that blocks were too easy in 06...especially for shorter players trying to score on taller...

...the only cheap layup i know of is the FSS under hoop one...and that can be very easily removed...

...since the CPU doesn't abuse it, and this abuse relies on the human player, this issue isn't important to me...

smaller on taller true, but taller guys who have some dunking ability(not much) can just dunk all game inside without being stopped.

the lay up im talking about is the one that occurs from under the rim and is a kind of scoopshot reverse lay up. it gets blocked 1 out of 30 times orso. Also in live 06 blocking on jumpers does not occur and when it does it is not registered unless its a superstar block.

CPU does not abuse it, but since i'm thinking more of league play inside dunking and scoring is my main concern along with variety in moves, cause leagues don;t use FSS

...i know which layup it is man

and like i said before, for league play or whatever you can disable it.

ok so for the third time.......is there a way to put te 2005 inside blocks (the ones directly under the rim) in live 06?

i don't mean the normal blocks where you drive and get blocked from behind or front, but the ones where you are directly under the rim or very close.

if you do have an idea, please share.

JaoSming...........Do you know where i can see and edit dunk packs? I know of the list of types of packs. I know in players dbf it's determined which player has which pack, but where can i see which dunks are in a dunk pack exactly with names and all.

is it even possible to edit the dunks in a dunk pack?

let me knwo. I might start working on the aiact and the dunk packs when i get the time.

Also i need to know which software edits the players dbf the best. I have been editting the aiact with MS word and EAGraph so far.

nothing new yet. I dont know when I'll do stuff for this again. I was hoping for more community support (not by downloading, but helping create stuff) with this mod and it isnt happening. If i do anything for this, Ill post it.

SHAFT23, the dunk.act controls what dunks and layups apply to what dunk pack. It's in the tutorials. It is very easy to edit, its just a matter of having an "x" or a "-" in a certain spot. My tip to you is the write this stuff down.

This is a list of all the dunk animations in the game and what they do. This was written by me and is very opinionated. The easiest way to "test" these animations is to apply them as a tip in dunk, and then throwing a off the backboard alleyoop to yourself in practice mode and trying to tip dunk it in.

http://www.nba-live.com/jaosming/dunklist06.txt

players.dbf go with the "calc" application included with "open office" its free.

ok, thanks..........what i want to do is change the dunk packs.

for example......the bigman dunk pack...........what code do i have to change to get them to do only 3 or 4 dunks?

where is the turorial that tells us how to change the dunks inside the packs? and can i make additional dunk packs? lets say one especially for lebron with only him having that pack?

calc is for linux i'm on Windows. any other way to edit players.dbf on windows?

And also...........how do i remove dunks and lay ups from the game? Do i just delete them in the word document and implement the edited act file in the viv file with Graph?
