Question about installing mods/patches

I've installed a few various court, miscellaneous, jersey addons so far and i've done what the readme said to do..extract the files to \NBA Live 06\SGSM folder but I've noticed no files get overwritten. Why is this? thanks

when you throw files into your sgsm folder, you dont actually overwrite any original files. when you install a patch at the sgsm folder, the game refers to that file instead of the original files

Oh ok. It sounds a little confusing but cool anyway. Another question is I downloaded some shoe addons but they were jpg formats, so what would I do in this situation?

you open their corresponding fsh files using eagraph or fshx and then import the jpeg file of the shoe into the fsh file you opened.
