beginner help

hey guys. well this is kind of a noob question, ive been playing the game for some time now but im having problems playing online. im having problems direct-playing with other people. i go to game modes->play online-> direct internet play (or something along those lines) and from there im lost. i create a game and another guy clicks the join-game button and enters my ip address but for some reason both screens (mine and the ohter player) just stay stuck at the 'waiting for other player' screen after that. the platform im using is a pc, can anyone help me out here? thanks

i waited over half an hour... thrice ill try disabling the firewalls and see how that goes, thanks anyway. i dont need to register at ea online to direct play, do i

nope. if you're playing at a cybercafe.. just go to www.whatismyip.com to know your real IP address. but i dont think you can modify the firewall settings if the server restricts it. i advise that the one who's at home should create the game. it worked for me. just beware of spywares or hackers coz disabling your firewall can make you prone to hacker attacks.
