Saw Ginga this morning, that docum. at brazilian soccer. Pretty cool but the moves get so repetitive.

Oh I have Ginga, I got it for free with some Australian Sports magazine that came with the local newspaper for $2. Bargain lol, I still haven't watched the DVD but I saw a picture in the magazine of a chick in bikini doing bicycle kick :hump:

The Royal Tennenbaums - another film by Wes Anderson, made in for him typical postmodernistic tone. Basically a story of a rise, fall and another rise of a family and tranformation of the head of the family, Royal Tennebaum, from a manipulative, emotionless jerk to a fatherly figure who once again unites his children and revives his life. It's not as colourful as The Life Aquatic is, and although there are some similarities, the meaning is different. Once again, it's not you typical comedy, more of a drama, but like all Anderson's movies, it's not depressive or anything. The right expression to describe it would be 'lifelike'. Him and Paul Thomas Anderson are certainly one of the best artists in today's Hollywood.

Saw MI3 tonight, was actually alot better than I expected. Reminded me alot of Splinter Cell.

Do you mean it was deep & artistic...?

The Fly - how is this flick not more notorius? It is everything a sci-fi horror should have - tense, suspenseful horror, sci fi, drama, and even a sort of love story. Throw a good plot, good dialogue, good acting, David Cronenberg and a pretty girl (young Geena Davis) and you have yourself a winner. There isn't much action to find until the very end (and even then it's more of a softcore thing), but that's more of a plus than anything. It just shows you how you can scare people of without killing everyone who ever showed on the screen.

Considering Hollywood, they probably copied it to a degree.

saw da vinci code last nite. wasn't great, wasn't bad. i think the book was better then the movie. i thought the best thing about the book was that it was hard to stop reading once you get started and that didn't make it into the movie

hanks was credible as a symbologist but not as the expert swimmer/in shape person he's portrayed as in the book

the Silas selection/portrayal was crap. he was supposed to be some menacing figure but he ended up looking like Powder

there was no chemistry between langdon & neveu

i wonder how the movie will be like for people that didn't read the book

Saw The Hurricane with Denzel Washington. That was an awesome movie, a must see definitely.

Also saw M:I3 this weekend. It was pretty good and despite my not liking action movies, this one was enjoyable to watch.

I heard from so many people that the Da Vinci Code just sucked, but I'll eventually watch it on DVD because I don't want to end up disappointed.

crash is the best movie i have seen in the past 2 years. that movie inspired me as a filmmaker. For some reason, 'requiem for a dream' comes to mind when i think about crash even though they're not that similar. Both are great movies. another good movie that few people have watched that you should see is 'bubble.'

im excitied for xmen 3 too even though I didnt like the first two that much. The commercials look pretty cool. I don't like rogue though. Superman - I'll watch because of kate bosworth. If it turns out to be half decent, the better.

i am also pumped about superman returns, i like the direction they are going with it. i really enjoyed the old superman movies (minus the 4th, and how part 1 ended) so it will be interesting to see if they totally screw up or if they improve on the old series. also being a total comic book junkie does not hurt.

I think he meant he's disgusted with the homosexual theme.

As for X3 vs. Superman, I saw the preview trailers for both, and I'm actually more excited about Superman than I am about X3 for some reason :|

i just love the fact that superman leaves earth and it takes hearing the begs and pleads of millions of people to bring him back. i dont know, i think the idea will work well. still i wanna see xmen more. infact the only movie right now that i can think of that i want to see more than x3 is the simpsons.

i am still kinda upset that they removed gambit from it, even if it was just going to be a very small cameo roll.

If you just used your eyes a bit and looked down in the forum you'll see a movies thread and it would be neat if you could ask queries about movies in there to keep general talk more easier to get around without having countless amounts of useless one answer/similar topic threads. I'm not trying to go loco on you but use a thread thats already there relating to your topic when its available.

Not a big fan of Yao so I doubt I'll check it out, but isnt Year Of The Yao pretty old or is that some other damn documentary about him?

I might see X3 because the new trailer for Snakes On A Plane is supposed to play before it.

That's the only reason I would ever see it.

and maybe the Juggernaut. Bitch.
