Thanks for the info Skip (Y)
Yeah, i just checked out the tour dates and he is coming to Germany for one concert. However, it's too far away=(

Tue Aug 22, 2006 10:03 pm

There are planes that can bring you there . The only rapper who came to Israel lately was 50 Cent :?. I can't think of others who visited Israel in the last 3 years. What a shame. I would like to see Ice Cube or DPG.

Very sweet Kweli track, where does he stop for a concert in germany ? But I think it should be too far for me also since we both live in bavaria.
Really like "Listen", looking forward to listening to his new LP.

At the moment I am listening to "Idlewild", really good album, I like the songs "Life Is A Musical" , "The Train" and "In Your Dreams", the other songs are good, too --> nice LP.

Now I am looking forward to the new Mos Def, Talib Kweli and Common LPs and I think I will buy the sophomore Tre Hardson album, his sound is cool.

Track from his old album (not my favorite track, but not weak at all)

Something To Live 4

hova-, it says that he's coming to Hamburg on the 11th of September. I believe both of us wouldn't have to go to school (sommerferien?) but it's still too far...considering that I would go with my dad and he doesn't wanna drive that far. Maybe he'll come to germany sometime again

Common is also releasing a new LP? Damn, I already see it coming. It's gonna be some expensive weeks buying all those records for my record-player;-)

Well, Hamburg is really too far away, especially since you cannot stay there longer because of school start (13th of September).

Common´s new album will be called "Finding Forever" and is said to be released in September. Here is a short article.

Finding Forever is the title of rapper Common's forthcoming album, scheduled for release at the end of September 2006 according to comments made by Common and Kanye West, though the official date has yet to be named. It will include production from the likes of West, possibly Dr. Dre, and may include posthumous production work by J Dilla. [1] D'Angelo is also said to be making a cameo.

Common explains that "Finding Forever really means to find a place in music where you can exist forever,Music can be forever if you make it from the heart, if you make it from the soul and it’s good. And I look at music like Bob Marleys or Marvin Gayes or Stevie Wonders or A Tribe Called Quests, that’s forever music. And I’m continuing on the quest to make forever music."

Common has big plans for the album, "I want to work with Kanye again," Common said. "And I would love to work with Dr. Dre because it’ll be something fresh for me because I feel like he’s someone who is a classic producer. I like people who can consistently do it throughout time and be great and I feel that Dr. Dre is one of those individuals."

"And now with the death of J Dilla and other things, you start thinking about forever lasting for real through music," he continued. "Jay Dee will last forever through his music and hopefully generations down the line will know about Common through his music (see "Jay Dee — Producer For Common, Busta And Tribe — Dies"). And it's also saying: I been doing this for a nice period of time, so I'm trying to find the place where I can keep existing in the game and make music I love."

Common and Kanye are still a ways off from Finding Forever's completion, but there's talk that the first single might be a record called "The Glory," which Com described as "a hard, raw joint."

" 'The Glory' is a street joint," he said. "It's one of those soulful songs I feel could touch the streets and beyond. That's the song Kanye wants for the first single, so we'll see. 'Cause we're cooking up a lot more songs. ... I don't ever want to repeat myself, but we have some of that raw essence of what hip-hop is, what Be has been, what Common has been — that's bringing that soul and beats and rhymes and the spirit. We have that, as well as some progression on the music."

The 2Pac Duets from DJ Mello and DJ Cinema was pretty good. Hell of a lot better than BIG Duets that's for sure.

that's a pretty good album. I like the sound of J-5, it's a lot like Dilated Peoples... If you like them, take a listen to Visionaries (I heard them in the Blitz: THe League game)... they have the sound as J-5.

and wtf CK how could you replace Rihanna with THAT??? plus, I'm drinking a Heineken right now  thought you'd like to know.

I've received complaints from parents of NLSC posters that the Rihanna avatars caused too much stains on the monitors and keyboard. And what's with Heineken?

@ Skip: Mitchy Slick is decent, westcoast gangsta San Diego type shit or something something.

Haven't listened to the Fed-X album yet.

I've got another album getting update, which I'll do like in a few days or something.

Young Buck is tearing up the South. His lyrics are amazing. In his songs Prepare for War and Let us Pray, it seems like Buck is going to kill someone soon. Buck is a true Gangster Rapper, unlike some other phonies.

Buck was in a fight and grabbed a butter knife.... I sorta like his music but i dont like him

Lately I've been listening to the early rock n roll songs (Chuck Berry, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Beatles mostly) and only now I figured out how much today's music sucks. I mean, after listening to Chuck Berry's music, even Aerosmith's and RHCP's songs seem to be shitty songs. I'm sure I won't listen to all that crap I used to listen to (mostly blink-182).

There still is good rock, you just have to do a lot of searching. Most of it is trial and error, but it's usually worth it.

Check out some of DJ Fatal's Pac mixtapes, he puts out quality material.

It depends on what you consider good. People always claim the music of the current generation is crap... just think back to when Rock N' Roll was considered almost taboo.... now its rap... and oh, and rock music requires no talent either, right? Just cranked up amps and people screaming. I'm sure that in the next decade or two, our music will be considered classic, just like some of the "classic" 70s and 80s songs.

That song is extremely old, but its a classic.

It was used as a promo song for the movie Jason X, used as the theme for WWE Summerslam 2001, and is currently used as the ECW on Sc-Fi theme. :o

I have the tendency to wanna bust some heads while listening to it.

Listening to Bodies by Drowning Pool right now... great song

Listening to Step Up by Drowning Pool also. Just decided to have only 1 song in my playlist and that's it. Been playing it repeatedly. Some of you could say I'm in a jolly good mood.

Since when exactly are lyrics that indicate that the writer has mental issues considered amazing?

 I think this statement doesn't need any type of comment.

His lyrics are good, not because he talks about killing someone. He has the best lyrics from all of G-Unit, check out some of his freestyles.

lol. I think i said that because i am a Buck fanboy

Banks got the best lyrics outta G-Unit...well on his earlier mixtapes anyway

Anybody listened to 8-Ball & MJG - Tennessee Pimpin Mixtape? After only a few listens, its pretty good so far, maybe I just got to listen to it in the car. For some reason, stuff would sound better to you when you driving. I'm not really feeling Young Dro's Gangsta Grillz either, he is trying to be too much like T.I.
