I managed to watch Day of the Dead several months ago, and I thought it was very good for an old movie. I haven't seen the other ones, but if I remember correctly, Dead Alive is the zombie flick with the monkey, the grandma and the lawnmower? If it is, then that's probably the goriest movie ever made.

Did anyone mention Shaolin Soccer?

Land of the Dead is a zombie flick. Zombie flicks are automatically 'semi decent' regardless of how much they suck. IMO, by FAR the worst George Romero zombie-related film.
I really enjoyed 28 Days Later, but Dawn (remake) let me down. It's funny how much better the original was - a mix of social criticism, drama and a bunch of zombies. And yes, Dead Alive (aka Braindead) is the bloodiest movie ever made. Peter Jackson has a sick mind.
