Isn't that suprising that the Mobb are contemplating signing, there career has been in decline these past few years but I suppose they think signing with G-Unit will change this

it's all about money....now that they suck they can sign to a money making machine. People will think they are new, hahah.

Im getting DPG and DPG 2002. Still need a Kurupt solo fix.

I got "Be" Sunday and I've listened to the whole CD four times so far. Gonna listen to it later on today when I start playing my Live 05 Dynasty.

Glad to see that there's some Tupac fans here, my favorite musician/celebrity of all-time. (Y)

Since rap stuff is to remain in the rap thread, I ask this question:

Would Tupac be as popular as he is were he not dead?

nobody can answer that question so i can only speak for myself and i definetely dont listen to his music because hes dead. i dont think its his death that made him great, its rather the fact that he simply was great, his lyrics were great, his message was great. when i look at his potential and the way he improved with each new album i think he would have even become greater if he didnt die. he also was pretty young when he died so there really was a lot of potential and he still had so much to learn, i really wonder what kinda lyrics the 30/35 year old tupac would write, when hed be even wiser than he was at the age of 25.

I don't think the general public would view him as the GOAT if he was still alive. I also think that if Nas had died instead of Pac, he would be viewed as the GOAT by most.I dont' think BIG would be as popular if he wer living, same with Eazy-E. It worked opposite for Big L though. He never got his chance because he died.

That's for majority opinion. As for myself, no. He'd still be my favorite. He was actually a good guy, and that is one of the things that makes me like him. His music is amazing because of obviously his lyrics, and at times it's the only thing keeping me from going crazy and being one of those kids on the news that brought in a gun and shot everyone who attends the school. I know that's knida sad, but it's true. He keeps me sane.

I don't think he'd be as popular as he is now. He'd still be like the most popular rapper, but people wouldn't like worship him as they do now. And I doubt Nas would be viewed as the greatest if he had died instead of Pac, because Nas isn't liked all over like Pac is.

That's what I figured, there are real fans and then there are fans just because he's so popular, which in part, atleast according to me has to do with the fact that he's dead.

Following up my complete neglect of this thread, I didn't even see Jackal's mammoth post :| One question, how is HHC able to continue when everyone's providing links to illegal downloads? What loophole are they exploiting?

i'm not sure but let me tell ya that there a so so many sites like it with more links. No one uses P2P programs anymore, too many corrupt files. As far as i know sahring between friends is not illegal and since anyone can be your friend because theres no strict definition to it it creates a loophole for music sharing.

SkipToMy_Lou wrote:LMAO Jin retired!

So I'm sort of sitting here pondering a few things.

First off, maybe I should explain the motivation behind the song itself. I wrote "I Quit" because its what the track told me to do. Yes, it sounds sort of odd, but once my ears heard that instrumental, I felt like it was saying to me.."this is the path you must follow.." and then I sort of just let the pen and my heart do the talking. Not my brain. It gives me the the utmost honor to see how some folks are so adamant about me not quiting..or "giving up". Trust me, I am not giving up. Quite a few of you have expressed sentiments such as "you cant give up, you havent even done this or that yet.." Maybe what needs to be focused on is what I have accomplished (which in my heart is a whole lot and I'm damn proud of that) with my time as opposed to what I haven't accomplished yet...Some folks even feel that maybe I'm feeling this way because I feel I've "failed" (record sales, or having to deal with "haters", etc.) That's the farthest from the truth. For what it's worth, I know that the 100,000 (give or take, since some of you went and bought like 5 copies lol) of ya'll that went out and bought T.R.I.H. did it solely because you were supporters of me and my music...and not because the radio or tv brainwashed you into thinking I'm the hottest shit out there, being that I was barely on either one.

Nonetheless, I've always said this and I'm sticking by it: I have the illest fans in the world and those of you that have ever met me or interacted with me know I am grateful for each and everyone of you. My goal since I started doing this was no more than to represent for hiphop and represent for my people. Which I will never stop doing, whether I'm in the game or not.

Before I lose my train of thought, I just wanted to clear up some of the misconceptions and rumors. "Jin" is done. No more studio for me. In all reality, it's not like it's a big deal. I'm sure MTV NEWS or BET.com aren't exactly gonna be flashing bulletin boards that say "JIN RETIRES!!!". Hahah. Matter of fact, if some folks were to hear the news they'd probably react like "who gives a fuck?" or maybe even.. "Jin's retiring?..Shit, he never even dropped an album!" lol and thats the damn truth. However, for those of you that are true JINatics and some that I even consider my friends, I thought I'd share my decision with ya. Be happy for me.

Hopefully, 10 years from now, when we have more than enough representatives within the entertainment industry in general, people will still trace back and be like.."damn remember 10 years ago, that chinese kid was on BET..the one that signed with the R... he had that Speak Chinese song!" hahah. That puts a smile on my face.

If you really wanna know what I'm looking forward to its this: www.yofam.net Support that!

*Just a thought* Them 2F2F checks weren't too bad and going to movie premiers was pretty fun. Maybe I should seriously devote myself to an acting career. The oppurtunities are definitely there.

"Jin" has left the building...but the emcee will always be here.

Just remember: I wasn't the first. And I certainly will not be the last.

lol. I can't believe I actually know who this is. That's a first from this thread  Actually, I just saw the BET clips with the freestyle thing. He was killing everyone

I heard earlier today that G-Unit was signing Mobb Deep and I forgot the other group, but if they said if he can sign them early enough, they'll be on the Anger Management 3 tour. I guess G-Unit is going to expand into a company like Bad Boy or something now.

the other group was M.O.P. i just hope they keep it real and dont sign to Fiftys label, i dont wanna see neither Mobb Deep nor M.O.P. turn all commercial and use candy ass beats and shit. theyve both been keeping it real for such a long time now and theyve been putting out great hip-hop music, itd be sad to lose another couple of artists to the industry.

Pac would not have been as popular among the pop world. But probably more respected among the hip-hop world. After his death we got stuck with all this unreleased crap that should have stayed unreleased. A lot of people dislike him simply because they're so sick of people thinking he's the GOAT, I don't let that blind me that much. I like some of hist stuff, but not a lot. I still think he's the most overrated rapper in history.

Actually most of the unreleased stuff was gteat, just the verses and production they added which put them down.

It's basically confirmed now that Mobb Deep is going to G-Unit

You could argue that some of Pac's unreleased stuff is right up there with the stuff he came out with before he died. Better Dayz is some of his best work, and it was put together from unreleased material

"Jada don't fuck with me if you wanna eat
cause I'll do yo lil' ass like Jay did Mobb Deep"

I guess Mobb Deep wants a deal so bad that they'll ignore that line from 50 on 'Piggybank'.

Mobb Deep going Commercial? They are commercial, but nobody notices. I've heard "Got It Twisted" so many times Last Year, I'm not even kidding.

Oh yeah, Mike Jones can kiss my fucking ass, I'll "Tip" his ass over on some "44's". :x

I didn't get this from anybody when I made a Topic about me showing my screens of NBA Live 96, it was a ROM, and me and Jae came into discussing ROM's.

But then you are in here, shit talking everyone for Downloading Music, why I slide out of it Stealth-Like? That's stupid.

I don't hate ya Jackal, I'm just pointing it out.

Commercial and popular are different, 2Pac is...er...was popular and isn't considered commerical. Sadly most popular rap nowadays is commercial.

Probably because everyone ignores your post because they are shit 120% of the time.

it was a ROM, and me and Jae came into discussing ROM's.

Jae didn't give these people "shit", I did. What does Jae have to do with it? I said not to download music. So if Jae decided not to advise you against the Roms, what's that got to do with me?

But then you are in here, shit talking everyone for Downloading Music, why I slide out of it Stealth-Like? That's stupid.

There are rules. Maintaining those rules is considered talking shit? Fine. You keep that mentality, you do that.

Why I slide out of it Stealth-Like?

Don't punish us because you've been playing too much Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. If you have to talk, talk like a normal human being or just keep shut. So whatever it is you called stupid, rephrase it and say it again, then we'll see what's stupid.

I don't hate you either Fool, but I don't like you either. Don't make me hate you, that's a whole new level.

Oh, on a side note, did you expect me to not respond? It died down, the guys agreed to not discuss it and everything calmed down, what was the purpose of bringing it up again? Did you feel left out? Go enjoy some dick, ehm, dik dik Fool.
