LMAO Jin retired!

So I'm sort of sitting here pondering a few things.

First off, maybe I should explain the motivation behind the song itself. I wrote "I Quit" because its what the track told me to do. Yes, it sounds sort of odd, but once my ears heard that instrumental, I felt like it was saying to me.."this is the path you must follow.." and then I sort of just let the pen and my heart do the talking. Not my brain. It gives me the the utmost honor to see how some folks are so adamant about me not quiting..or "giving up". Trust me, I am not giving up. Quite a few of you have expressed sentiments such as "you cant give up, you havent even done this or that yet.." Maybe what needs to be focused on is what I have accomplished (which in my heart is a whole lot and I'm damn proud of that) with my time as opposed to what I haven't accomplished yet...Some folks even feel that maybe I'm feeling this way because I feel I've "failed" (record sales, or having to deal with "haters", etc.) That's the farthest from the truth. For what it's worth, I know that the 100,000 (give or take, since some of you went and bought like 5 copies lol) of ya'll that went out and bought T.R.I.H. did it solely because you were supporters of me and my music...and not because the radio or tv brainwashed you into thinking I'm the hottest shit out there, being that I was barely on either one.

Nonetheless, I've always said this and I'm sticking by it: I have the illest fans in the world and those of you that have ever met me or interacted with me know I am grateful for each and everyone of you. My goal since I started doing this was no more than to represent for hiphop and represent for my people. Which I will never stop doing, whether I'm in the game or not.

Before I lose my train of thought, I just wanted to clear up some of the misconceptions and rumors. "Jin" is done. No more studio for me. In all reality, it's not like it's a big deal. I'm sure MTV NEWS or BET.com aren't exactly gonna be flashing bulletin boards that say "JIN RETIRES!!!". Hahah. Matter of fact, if some folks were to hear the news they'd probably react like "who gives a fuck?" or maybe even.. "Jin's retiring?..Shit, he never even dropped an album!" lol and thats the damn truth. However, for those of you that are true JINatics and some that I even consider my friends, I thought I'd share my decision with ya. Be happy for me.

Hopefully, 10 years from now, when we have more than enough representatives within the entertainment industry in general, people will still trace back and be like.."damn remember 10 years ago, that chinese kid was on BET..the one that signed with the R... he had that Speak Chinese song!" hahah. That puts a smile on my face.

If you really wanna know what I'm looking forward to its this: www.yofam.net Support that!

*Just a thought* Them 2F2F checks weren't too bad and going to movie premiers was pretty fun. Maybe I should seriously devote myself to an acting career. The oppurtunities are definitely there.

"Jin" has left the building...but the emcee will always be here.

Just remember: I wasn't the first. And I certainly will not be the last.

Nobody on the forum is stupid, if everything was for "evaluation purposes" we'd be allowed to discuss games we downloaded for "evaluation purposes". The downloads you download are illegal and that's what it'll be left at. If the forum will let this slide then game downloads will also have to slide. It's illegal, it's against the forum rules so stop talking about it, saying it's for evaluation purposes everytime won't make it right. Either stop talking about it or watch your precious rap thread get locked. You want to talk about your evaluation copies do it via PM or MSN.

what proof do you have? just because we download doesn't mean that it's illegal.

This isn't your mom you're talking to Shep, I'm not a retard.

From what I've understood you folks read reviews from Hip Hop Cartel.net & depending on if the album is any good (based on the review) you proceed to download the album or not. In this thread only a link was given to www.x-ed.com. At this site and I'm sure at a lot more sites there are full albums up for download. I had checked x-ed.com and indeed there were zipped albums up for grabs. The songs in those zip/rar files were just MP3's. They were songs from albums that are meant to be sold, they are copyrighted stuff. Now you see, downloading copyrighted stuff (MP3's in this case) is illegal. You telling me that it's not won't convince me for shit. I don't have the proof but I do have common sense. As I said, it's not your mom you're talking to.

Seriously, look at your posts & tell me the way I've translated it is incorrect. This is like when some 13 year old kid is sitting on the internet and watching hardcore sex & the dad walks in and the kid tells the dad he's watching it for Biology. Now the dad won't tell the kid to fuck off and shove it but in this case I will ask you to fuck off and shove it.

anyays, I downloaded (strictly for evaluation and i shall delete w/in 24hrs of course) Daz's "This Is The Life I Lead" and im half ay through "Raw".

This is the last time I'll say it, you can keep "evaluating" as much as you want, you bring it up one more time & the thread will be locked.

Skip's & Colin's Album Exchange Thread.

They are exchanging albums on the site, using you send it.

Me and Colin have decided to trade various albums, and they will subsequently be posted in this thread.

This thread is nice and all to discuss rap. Discuss rap as in "I like this rapper/I like this album" not "I downloaded this album and it's whack" or "Get it at www.insertshithere.com". You keep trying to convince me I'm a moron & this thread you're so proud of will be locked.

Get it through your fat fucking skull, you're talking about downloading albums, last I checked that wasn't legal. In other words, it's ILLEGAL. The forum doesn't want that stuff to be discussed, so don't do it. It's just that simple. If people from this thread do want to discuss downloads of albums go over to HHC.

Downloading albums is no different than downloading games, it's still illegal. Cut the "it's for evaluational purposes" you cheap bastards won't go out to the store and shell out the cash to buy the original CD. That's a crock of shit. Jae has stressed it more than enough that it's illegal, you keep taking it as a joke and continue to mock everyones intelligence by saying it's not illegal/it's for evaluational purposes. You want to keep this thread alive then you stop discussing it the way you are discussing it & just keep it within the forum rules. It's that simple.

I don't have the cash to buy albums, I'm flat broke. My parents won't buy me them because they don't approve of Tupac's message (they're both white and they think he has an anti-caucasian way of thinking that is a negative influence on me. I just tell them to fuck off.) so downloading is the only way for me to get albums.

You can go to the store (or a friend, or a classmate, or a neighbour or wherever) that has it and listen to it there.

I fully agree with Jae and Jackal; and it's not really something to discus, just stop it...

Guys, it's simple enough. Just talk about the album without giving links or w/e to the thread you upped it in.

Goat, I understand that downloading music is something very normal on the internet, downloading albums is becoming more and more popular, you can keep on downloading it, you can exchange links and all as long as it's done privately. Keep it off the forums, atleast publically. I'm being realistic, I'm not telling you to stop it in totality. Hell, add Matt & Colin to MSN and you can keep doing what you're doing. It's that simple. Colin got it, I hope you get it too Goat. As well as everyone else.

Whoa, just foun out at HHC about the now very possible idea of Mobb Deep signing to G-Unit, and the less-likely thought of MOP signing.

That's awful. G-Unit will destroy your soul.

Isn't that suprising that the Mobb are contemplating signing, there career has been in decline these past few years but I suppose they think signing with G-Unit will change this

Oh and Matt, R.A.W was released in 2000.

For anyone who likes rap I'd suggest getting Common's "Be", it's tight from the first track to the last one. This has to be one of my favorites, and so far it's the album of the year IMO.

I've been listening to it for a while now, it doesn't have a whole lot of replay value besides the title track Be, Corners, Chi City, Testify, and The Food. I'll be buying it tommorow unless the store don't have it yet.
