Jae wrote:I agree with air gordon here, I "got" Wedding Crashers and it's not really as funny watching it at home on TV. The audience reaction adds to things alot, and also the fact that it's on such a big screen with the great sound everywhere it adds to the atmosphere. It seemed a bit corny when I watched it again the other day.

I saw Wedding Crashers at the cinemas & thought it was real corny....outside of a couple of funny bits, it really let me down....after that, I promised myself I wouldn't go see a comedy movie at cinema for a while....

I saw wedding crashers and thought it was pretty funny. I dont understand why so many people say it was corny. Oh well, it must be my old age...everything is funny to me nowadays.

I think you'll be disappointed, Jackal, just based on the fact you're hearing all this hype about it

There are some moments of dullness in the movie for sure but I think it's inevitable in most comedies since there has to be some plot/information to get the plot going in the movie

Though National Lampoon's Animal House and American Pie were pretty much just nonsense the whole time hehe

I thought the Village was terrible. I'm thinking I probably would have liked it if this was the first movie introduced by mr shyamalan

...

I seldom catch movies on friday/saturday nights at the movie house now because of they are packed with obnoxious, loud teenie boppers. They are bearable for comedies since those movies are supposed to be fun and give a few laughs. But for horror movies- they are at their worst. non stop talking, overreactions to scary scenes, mocking of the overreactions, etc
Jump.

I watched the Jacket yesterday. It could have been much better, if you ask me, although it was worth watching for Kiera alone. I saw her nipples!

I forgot one movie that I saw prior to going on holiday last November....it was 'Wolf Creek'....very good Aussie made movie that surprised me by getting a bit of publicity in the States (& a Xmas or Boxing Day release I believe)....

for all you international guys out there who have always wondered what the Aussie outback is like, just check this movie out....definitely worth a watch (Y) (Y)

Not a movie necessarily, but everyone should check out the DVD's of Michael Moore's former TV show, The Awful Truth. It's hilarious, some examples:

African American Wallet Exchange: After a string of incidents which saw New York police kill black people who had wallets/phones in their hands, thinking they were guns, Moore sets up a table where African Americans can exchange their black wallets for bright orange ones, to stop themselves from being shot by the police

Ficus: Moore runs a ficus plant for congress or something... the plant wins like 80% to 20%, but the people who are counting the votes suddenly start refusing to count the ficus votes. Very disappointing.

There's barely any George Bush stuff, and it's all extremely clever and interesting... for the most part anyway.

I was thinking the same thing, it's happened with other movies where people have gone, omg you haven't seen that? That's like the awesomest blah blah & I expect the world from the movie.

Anyways, 40 Year Old Virgin or Wedding Crashers?

I didn't know there was a nipple until I watched the movie. Then I was like, eh, the movie was only good because there was a nipple and a few funny jokes and stuff.

I just saw Wedding Crashers a couple nights ago, and I'd take 40 Year Old Virgin over it.

Wedding Crashers is a cute romantic comedy, but it wasn't really funny though it had some chuckle moments.

I thought The Village wasn't very good, though the ending was surprising.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Munich though. I really like Steven Spielberg's works (except for AI, that was awful), especially relating to war.

In all fairness, War of the Worlds was equally awful. Munich though, great movie.

I saw The Longest Yard tonight, (I told you folks movies came late!!), it wasn't a blockbuster but it was pretty funny. It had it's moments.

Also watched Daisy Dukes tonight (or Dukes of Hazzard), it was a pretty shitty movie. Jessica Simpson & the Charger made it worthwhile though. If Simpson had more footage in it, I'd have said I liked it more. The scene where her ass is shown by the jeep, amazing.

I've got American Pie Band Camp too. I had Wedding Crashers in my hands, but I just couldn't bring myself to rent it. I hate Owen Wilson. Sorry. I tried, honest.

I think Air Gordon once told me to watch Machinist, I looked hard & long for that movie to no avail, I picked up a previews of fourthcoming DVD's & that movie releases on the 28th of February over here. Shit, this country sucks. :shake:

The Machinst was good. It's a little dark, but great acting from Christian Bale, definitely a great role. It's amazing how he actually got his body to go at such a low body fat.

Will Ferrell I admit was very funny in Wedding Crashers, but since he's only in it for 10 minutes, it doesn't make up for the rest of the movie, imo.

It was difficult for me to watch Brokeback because in the society I grew up in Jamaica, we are so anti-homo that you would probably be beaten to death just for admitting it. Its not that I personally hate gays, but I just havent got over my homophobia (sp?). Most of the time I sat making gunshot gestures to the screen. :)

The more I hear about the movie, the more I realise it's not for me. If Will Ferrell is the dude from Bewitched & Elf, I'm surely not watching that movie.

Nah, I've seen the previous (three was it?). It's just sad Stifler couldn't be roped in, he was the shizzle.

into the blue was nice too, heh.

Did you see that ass in the first dive with the other couple?
