Signature moves

Postby Dv-Us-1 on Tue Nov 12, 2002 4:51 pm

In the interview with Tim he mentioned some signature moves were used as normal freestyle moves because they were too cool (ie: Perice's hold the ball real low between the legs) if every one can do them they are hardly "signature" moves. The question is ARE there unique moves to certain players? if so has anyone seen them and what are they? Let a new jack know!!!

Also the interview mentioned signature celebrations....i assume this means Walkers "chicken dance" since it was in previous Lives. Are there any sightings of other unique celebrations? (ie Mills, Richardsons retarded head tap. Jordans one arm cocked like weeeee im so strong celebration. Lets not forget Vince Carters bounce dance while on the floor and his "its over" gestures while runnin down the court...followed by the sound of a boom of his knee exploding. And dosent that doug christie guy have one he does when he hits a three 4 times a year?

Well I am not sure if it is a signature move..I mean, I would consider it one, but you tell me.

I play with Toronto, and I have gotten VC to Dunk the ball after putting it through his leg...As he did in the dunk contest...

Kobe Bryant's signature celebration.

There are individual looking jump shots. Like David Robinson's.

Thanks Knyt and butter at least i have somthin to go by now...also i have just purchased the PC version and it mentions in the manual about certain NBA players having signature SPIN moves? anyone know about this one? The PS2 version didnt mention this is i remember correctly....again some info on what they are and how they are done would be cool. Oh and if im not mistaken i think i saw tracey Mcgradey do the between the legs dunk in a game....but im not 100% sure there are a few over the top dunks....

I seen one from Vince. The one he did in the dunking contest where he point both hand straight at the scoreboard one...... hope u know what I am talking about....

the It's over gesture seems to happens for almost everyone who did a cool dunk though.....

Iv seen the celebration your talking about....but it was with Latrell Spreewell when i saw it! I thought it was a lil odd for him he dunked the ball hard (in a totally NON Spreewell way) then he landed and pointed towards the scoreboard with both hands with one arm kinda cocked like holdin a riffle. I think people with a "hyped" rating will do this cause i notice Allen Houston has never done any of these taunts but he does dunk the ball too well....anyway the only taunt i have not seen the is the Kobe flex shown here...so perhaps that one IS a unique taunt for Kobe...so how abotu the moves? No unique moves?

I've seen the Miles head knock thing---BTW--i think the bench animation through the game is a nice touch--I was playing a game and Jamal Crawford hit a big three pointer infront of my bench and the bench erupted and Jamal did the "it's over" hand gesture(it sent the game into overtime, after I've been trailing most of the game)--VERY COOL!

forgot to mention--I lost in overtime

I've seen spree do his celebration where he puts both hands in the air..and then fly the right hand forward.Very nice, the celebrations rock.Jason richardson did the head knock thing after i made him do a super dunk.

The freestyle moves are a combination of all the nba superstar's moves, and i love that...gives you the oppurtunity to choose if u want a superstar to do his move..or try something different. There is this one crossover when u press the dribble butten that looks just like when AI does it.Also, that behind the back bounce then spin..is another AI move.

The rim physics in this game are second to none. You hardly see the ball go into the rim the same way twice in one game.EA could have done better..but they did a great job this year

Gary Payton did it against me after a "normal" basket.

so perhaps that one IS a unique taunt for Kobe

I think I've seen somebody else do it...

Vince does the behind the back dunk as well if you come from the top side of the court, down to the basket...(Press Box View)

the taunts and celebrations are not all player specific, but who cares--they look cool--especially when a player does a player specific taunt--ie Darius Mile's head knock

Has anyone seen any "signature" free throw rituals yet? I see the ability to assign the free throw rituals is still in the players.dbf file...

I know NBA Live 2001 had a "signature" free throw rituals for Karl Malone, Jason Kidd, Vin Baker, Mark Jackson etc...

MJ and Dr. J can dunk from the free-throw line
Very easy to maneuver in practice mode

Well that theory is now straight to hell......i jus tried it with several other high dunk rated players.....some did the freethrow dunk...others did not oh well so much for that.....still wouldnt call it a signature move if 20 guys in teh league has it

See if you can figure it out!" da hell is that about? Best in the league? Hiddin spin move?....new poll is EA smoking crack and if so where can we all get some....off to practice mode to try these spins...lets try Kidd since he's the poster boy...

There's a one hand spin move can only perform with dribble rating 95 or above. I did it a few times with KIDD, that's the only guard I am able to pull out that move so far. Other than that I didn't know any hidden spin move. Also have anyone able to do the through the leg dunk <like the one VC did> in practise or game ?
