Get "Error while updating #1" when editing DBF

Hey guys,

I'm brand new to this board, but I've been coming to this site for over a year just to see what's up in NBA Live....and here's a problem I've ran across while trying to edit my player DBF file with DBF viewer: Whenever I enter a negative number in the expression field, an error message comes up and says "Error while updating #1" and then it says "Translate Error: Out of Bounds" when I try to close DBF viewer....how do I edit these files correctly, and if I change a value (say speed from 50-0), is that the same as a -50? Help me out! I'm sick of playing NBA Jam, err, I mean NBA Live 2003.
