Help please?

Postby SkipToMy_Lou on Thu Aug 12, 2004 10:23 pm

I have Andrews laterst roster patch installed.

Now when I try and play a match in dynasty mode the game crashes and says codebase error.

Can someone please tell me why this is happening?

Are any other details given when the Codebase Error message is displayed?

That's really strange...I know some people were experiencing Codebase Errors as they had installed the NBA Live 2003 roster update to NBA Live 2004 and vice versa, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. Have you made any modfications to the patch at all?

I edited some of the rookies ratings on the players.dbf file.

could that have contributed to the error?

Quite possibly. Did you use MS Excel to edit the ratings? If so, there's a good chance that you saved the changes incorrectly and the database has become corrupt. Try re-installing the update and testing it without making any changes (if you're going to simply change ratings, I suggest doing so from within the game - the end result is the same and the overall rating is recalculated automatically).

Yeah tried what you said and it works :)

and I did use Excel must have been the reason for the codebase errors.

thanks for the help Andrew.

Also when will you be releasing the next roster patch?

Good to hear the problem has been solved. (Y) I'll probably be releasing v1.10 sometime this week, most likely the weekend.
