yes..it is possible for two people to play the game on one computer.
the first way is a one uses a gamepad and one uses the keyboard.

here's another way that i found that two people can play on one keyboard. I repeat...2 on one keyboard... First, the two players set their button configurations for the keyboard. Each player takes their side of the keyboard and assigns their buttons. Second, plug in the gamepad. When assigning the button configurations for the gamepad, choose the one with the KEYBOARD configuration. Third, after assigning the gamepad controller, assign the keyboard controller to the second player and choose your button configurations. This way one player uses the keyboard using the KEYBOARD icon and the other player also uses the keyboard using the GAMEPAD icon.

dunno if it works with youy guys but it works fine with me.

I play multiplayer with gravis gamepad pro and the keyboard. if you see the appropriate icons it should work fine. maybe your controller isn't installed properly.

if only now you noticed it then you are in big trouble too...
people!!! its not that hard, plug the damn thing in and when you configure it in nba live put keyboard assignments into it instead of pushing the gamepad buttons ... this way you can play both on the same keyboard...
where one is "pretending" to use the gamepad!
ea didn't realy work this thing out like in nba live 2001... maybe they had no time... maybe they just want us to buy a friggin' gamepad just so we can enjoy a 2 player game :(
