This means you don't have a Geforce 4.

BTW You got screwed a 3 month old computer should not have an 8 mb card, it should have a 32 no-name at least.

Right Click on your desktop and click properties, click on settings tab then it should say "Display:..."

What does it say?

why would they give u an 8meg carD? that is so dodgy.. my computer is 3 years old and i have a 16 meg card. Are you sure its not just 'set' to 8 meg? like not the proper drivers? do you have the papers showing you exactly what you bought? it should list all the features.

he doesnt mean that its 8 meg seriously though..
my good old TNT 1 from 3 years ago is 16 meg.. you CANT have 8 meg that would be really bad of the comp people you got it from. What kind of video card does it say you have when you RIGHT CLICK on the desktop.. go to properties then click on settings? just browse through your control panel and go through the video/display tabs and tell us what is says.

ok here we go

chip type - kle/ple
bios version 1.104
system memory 248mb
video memory 8mb

via tech vt8361/vt8601 graphics controller

my computer is a HP/windows xp .. logically i wouldnt think xp and all easports 2002 games could work with 8mb video card ....

That is a ASUS GeForce.. its good.. it will either be GeForce 3 or 4.. I think it's a 4.. no idea if its a good geforce 4 or not but damn better than what your running it at and way better than my TNT 1 ;)

http://www.asus.com/vga/vgaindex.htm

It's there somewhere.. But just download nvidia's latest drivers.. http://www.nvidia.com and then when you install them it will automaticly determine what kind of GeForce it is and install the drivers and set them up correctly.

Hopefully It will work.

Actually I could be wrong on this.. but it is a Asus graphics card, and the description you have me leads to all them video cards I sent you a link about, but no idea if it relates to them.. it seems though it would.. but anyway see if the latest nvidia detenator drivers work.

You Got Raped

Postby Stevish on Mon Nov 25, 2002 7:13 pm

Go to
http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=70

I think our man here got raped by his computer vendor. I'm 95% sure that they only gave him an intergrated onboard video chip, which explains the low amount of memory. And to make it worse I think its a Trident chip, which has almost to none 3D rendering power on it. However, from what I know of intergrated Video cards, you can swap "system memory" to "video memory." So you should play around with your system settings a bit and see if you can do that, or even go into the bios and see if there are any settings related to this. But man, if I were you, the first thing I would do is call up HP and make the mofo people who sold you the system give you your Geforce4.

Well you ONLY want the NVIDIA drivers anyway.. it supports all the GeForce based cards.. you dont need the drivers specificaly for your card, because they are a year old and there is like nothing that supports them or the drivers.. so you just download these detenator drivers and it should set up your video card perfectly and everything should work and look 10 times better :)

remember to get XP version.

http://download.kobian.com/mb_dri_kt133.html#viat

latest drivers i could find. If it says 8 meg well i think it is :( but that really sucks.. it would be built in onto the motherboard as well. Download these drivers anyone they are probably newer. Maybe not. I'll see if there is newer drivers but probably not.

edit: argh.. I think these drivers are for a certain maker.. i think many makers have this graphics controller chip, like aopen and asus... do you think you can find out what the maker is?

ah.. one of my friends (who knows all this sort of stuff) said they DO have a website.. www.viaarena.com. They have drivers for your card that were released in September this year, even though this probably means nothing it is def 8 meg. Download these drivers.
