Here is their only solution:
EMAIL suggestions@ea.com telling them to include the option for better control mapping in the upcoming patch! this is very important, the more emails sent, the more likely it is that they will fix this huge issue. so email them now!
This is so lame! I mean, missing the config feature which was in previous versions is already stupid; the fact that if a bug needs to be fixed depends on the number of email received is even more stupid! A bug is a bug and EA should not not fix it because it's inconvenient to their "valued" customers who pay 40 bucks for the game. I doubt there will ever be an official patch fixing the controller configs considering EA has never done it before. Nevertheless, I did send an email to them asking for the option to be included in the patch (or future version)
