Online Play Aus/NZ.

Any Aussies or Kiwis that want to play online can go to this site and add their name to the list so people can contact eachother for a game. I played a couple of games last night through ip it was pretty good, 6 min quarters superstar. Won the first game 92-88 and lost the second 83-88.

How are you finding the game online (ip to ip) lag-wise?

What speed connection?

I played Showtime in the two games he mentioned, there was a little lag - noticible especially on free throws - but nothing worse than I've seen in direct modem connections with previous Live's, and certainly not bad enough to spoil the gameplay.

I have an ADSL connection, I'm guessing Showtime has the same or cable.

One thing we noticed, which I've also seen in games against the CPU, was that the scoring seemed to come in "runs" more often than in real NBA games. However this was likely because we were not focussed on strategy and controlling the tempo. The one time I did call a timeout, it seemed to put a nice halt to one of his runs.

We played 6 minute quarters, which suggests that the score in multiplayer could be as much as 160 aside in 12 min quarters (given that the bench would have had more court time in 12 min quarters).

If any Aussies / Kiwis are interested in a game, please look me up on ICQ - 89019365.

Hope this helps

John

What speed ADSL are you using? (for instance I am capped at 128Kbps...as are a lot of other New Zealanders)

Thanks...

My ADSL is 512 down / 128 up

From what I can see it doesn't use a lot of traffic, just a steady flow at a fairly slow rate. If other games are anything to go by, performance has a lot more to do with ping times than how fast the connection is.
