Just trying to get a sense of what everyone feels is the "real simulation"
mode. Just try both with the same settings and let me know what you
think okay.

I've also noticed that on arcade the computer does not use free-style dribbling that much. Come on people try this out and let me know what you think.

I Think its Arcade Mode. It isn't that much slower but the FG percentages for me & the comp are much lower.

I was going to say the same thing considering you poll is too close.

Lac the goods,
Have you taken this case abou the arcade and simulation mode to a EA representative?
They probably would say sim is sim and arcade is arc... because they don't wanna admit they screwed up.
I have the xbox and pc version of the game... in simulation mode ( xbox ) the game is extremely fast and the pc is so hard to beat. So I tried the arcade mode and everything is more real...however I haven't played in arcade mode (Pc).
Thanks.

We deserve to know and if EA did mess up, they should first and most
importantly admit their faults then fix it!

I just emailed EA I'll post what they say when I get it.

when I got the x box version and this whole aracde vs sim mode issue came up--I tried it and switched and I was convinced that it was a switch. So I kept playing then, I got use to the tempo and everything. We started a franchise and everything with it on arcade with all the rules up blah blah blah--then 2 weeks into the franchise my roomates switched it sim mode without telling me one day( because they were not convinced it was different)--we then played another week--and to tell you the truth--I could not tell what was sim or arcade mode anymore. The game basically played the same in time. So we kept it on sim mode and to make a long story short--I think people want to believe that there was a switch because this game plays differently. Just play the game, get use to the tempo. Once you figure out what the cpu does, then you will be able to develop your own game plan against it. Trust me, my first 30-40 games of live: i was getting my ass handed to me by the cpu all the time--then I figured little by little, what NOT to do against the cpu--then I put it all together and won my first game vs the cpu--it was in over time but it was worth the wait--I literally sat there and looked at all my stats and the final score for like 15 minutes! You can beat the cpu with the original rosters and on sim mode, but it seriously takes time. this is not your "old" nba live game. Andrew already posted that there was no mixup--on the old site.
I don't wanna burst anyones bubble, this is just my 2 cents--I'm hoping there are some heads out there that feel the same way. Change is good.

Well, in my case I am just wondering if EA messed up. When I play arcade I don't see behind the back 360 dunks, more jumpers in the lane though. Playing either mode I can own the computer on superstar using almost any team. Its just the way the computer plays. On simulation Steve Nash was shooting fade-away three pointers. In arcade I've yet to see anyone shoot a single fade.

Ok Dennis, I really cannot give you a certain opinion on what the gameplay modes are in the game and how they perform. The Arcade and Simulation mode settings just have different Rule Settings, but if the feel of the game is different in Arcade and feels a bit more realistic, I dont really notice these at all during gameplay. The Freestyle motion is a bit easier in Arcade, Simulation has more moves but they are harder to perform. If you have any ideas or suggestions, our developers are listening. The best way to get your word heard is to email
suggestions@ea.com and make sure you have (NBA Live 2003) in the subject line.
Thank You for your ongoing support of EA.
