Discussion about NBA Live 2003.

It seems the home factor really counts in this game. Players are more aggressive when play in their court. I just won a game with Sacramento at Chicago 101-98 after one ot, with Jay Williams scoring 31 plus 16 assists. But when the Bulls come at Arco Arena, they are not so brilliant and winning is easier. If so, the home advantage in the playoffs could really be important and it's worth to have a good number of wins in regular season

I think that home court makes a big difference in live 2003. I use NJ as one of my teams in season mode and they are 3-0 at home, winning by no less than 10. But they are 0-2 on the road, just got blown out by the Bucks. Sam I Am and Ray Allen could not miss, while my nets could not hit a shot from anywhere.
I also use the Blazers in my season mode and they seem to have a little less trouble on the road than NJ, but shots are still alot harder to make. The opposing team(when home) seems to aim for the jugular, from the opening tip.
My third team in the same season, the Sixers, won't even play for me unless AI gets going. If AI does not warm up, no one else on the team can sink a baskets. But if he starts hitting, Coleman and Van Horn both seem to step up their games a little bit.
Then again I could be imaging all of this!! HEHE.

Although it's tough, it is possible to win away though--I just beat my roomate in game 7 at his home 78-71.It's tough, you pretty much have to play flawless ball.

I got stomped @ Orlando, Garrity had 10 steals and they ended up with 15-20 more shot attempts and that was the difference. Next game however @ New York I was down 10-15 at times but came back to win and put my record at 4-1

wow this really makes the game more realistic, since you have to play with more attention on the road. I won at Chicago with a shoot of CWebber and they also had the last shoot to get the 2nd ot. But Christie had a block on Jalen Rose and i won the game. I'm going to visit Shaq at Staples Center next game, i think that will be harder than winning at United Center...
I'm playing with cpu assistance on, this makes the games closer. I find in the 4th quarter sometimes you don't hit a layup or a dunk while cpu keeps scoring 3 pointers. But you can control that by using the clock and avoiding layups or dunking by shooting midrange.
I found that if i leave the cpu assistance, the game becomes really though and i get overscored even in allstar mode. You noticed something similar?

I basically just try and play to my teams strengths and play like a real nba game would. I'll run pick and roll with Bibby and Bobby Jackson sometimes ill pass to the cutter most of the times ill take it to the rack. I like to post up with my big men and play the 2 man game. I think on Live going up against a good team on the road (IE the Magic) is more difficult than say playing the Bulls. You have to play even more carefully and make smart decisions or you'll end up with the loss.

I suppose it makes a difference If you want to hear cheers or not when you are playing well. But I haven't noticed much else different.

Cocobee, now thats an avator

. I've found that in live 2003, you will win only when the cpu allows u to win.....meaning not just cpu players allowing you to win but also that you will miss dunks and layups and the cpu will hit fadeaway threes in the face of two defenders. I was playing a game against the blazers in the playoffs on superstar mode and i was up by 11 pts then I broke away for four dunks and missed every one of them in succession. I also missed a fifth layup attempt but was prepared for the possible miss, so Igot up for the offensive board and still missed again. I like the game but so many things make it frustrating. If anyone has a winning record against the cpu on superstar mode playing the game without tweaks.....then i really have to give it up to you. Oh also i was playing the spurs one game on superstar mode and was up by one with about 3 seconds on the clock. Tony parker threw a full court prayer.....the ball hit the net but did not go through the hoop and this showed even in the replay .....but guess what......the basket counted and i lost the game, lol, nothing else has ever pissed me of more in any video game than that moment.
