Are Player Ratings Noted in the game after editing .DBF File

Are Player Ratings Noted in the game after editing Player.dbf files??? I reordered my rosters after changing all the ratings, but they still had everyone at their usual ratings... i.e. Shaq is 96 overall... is this an issue of display or should the overall ratings actually decrease???

It depends whether you changed a rating that bears a lot of weight on calculating the overall ratings. Also (and this probably sounds like a stupid question, but I assure you I'm not trying to insult your intelligence) did you edit a dbf from a saved roster file? If so, you will have to re-load the rosters for the changes to take effect.

I downloaded one of the DBF's floating around here, tweaked it, and copied it to the four locations... it seems to produce better gameplay, but I was just wondering if the rating changes are noticable in the game.
