CPU Teammates

im playing the "Player Lock" mode and my position is SG. the CPU teammates seldom pass the ball to me. only if im in the post area and press the backdown key to raise my arm, they will give me the ball. but im a shooting guard arent i? if im standing near the 3pt line, ill never get the ball. so the way i score is just grab a reb and dunk/layup. thats kind of boring. i tried different teams(Magic/Lakers/76ers) but thats almost the same. Can anyone help thx

In the manual (pg 8), it says you are supposed to be able to call for a pass by pressin the pass button... that doesnt work?
