I have tried everything possible to make this damn game work at reasonable framerates. I refuse to actually run the game without MAXIMUM DETAILS and under 1024x768x16. I have a $150 graphic card, I should not need to worry about this stuff. My specs are:
AMD Athlon XP 1600+
ASUS A7S333
256MB PC2100 DDR
Maxtor 60GB 5400RPM
GEFORCE4 TI4200 64MB
3DMarks - 9575
Someone please tell me if theres any damn way to run this game without choppyness. PLEASE

Which version of the video driver are you using? I have all the same hardware except your CPU, mine is slower..only a 1200 AMD.
I use the 30.82 version...nvidia driver.

There is no way if you want max details.

I swear EA sports doesn't know how to code and take advantage of the new high end cards. I have a Athlon 1800XP, 512 megs of ram, and a Geoforce 4 TI4200 and can only run the game at 18 fps on max detail. The 18fps stays the same if i run 800x600 or 1280x 720. Hopefully, they will come out with a patch to fix this. There is no excuse.

I've got PIV 2.4 GHz, 512MB RAMBUS, GeForce Ti4600...
The game works perfectly smooth in 1920x1440x32 with everything set to maximum except shadows which are set to medium...
When I enable the console and execute "r_showfps 1" I get 31 FPS minimum.
It often happens that if your joystick / gamepad isn't configurated in the proper way some games will hurt major slowdowns...
So... to be sure - unplug your joystick / gamepad and check if NBA Live works better...

Yeah your asking for a lot. I have a 1.6A o/ced to 2.56 ghz my ram @ DDR 400 my Geforce 3 Ti-200 is overclocked to Ti-500 spec and still I have to bump down the settings to make it run smooth. I can run @ 1280 X 960 32 bit but not on max settings. Most settings are set to medium. BTW my 3dmark score is 10250

I am runnin XP Pro + SP1....Man I love the game, and hate it because of the choppyness. To the guy who said I need a 2 GHZ CPU and a 9700 Pro to run it at maximum. I run Madden 2003 at 1600x1200x32 with 4x AA and 4x AF w/ a constant 45fps, which is smooth as hell. I know damn well Madden has to need more power than NBA Live, yet this game runs choppy on any resolution, even at 640x480. I HATE THE PROGRAMMERS AT EA FOR THIS JUNK. There must be aptch on the way. HOPEFULLY

For me turning off antisoptic filtering made a big difference.
