I can't remember if NBA Live 2005 allowed you to get around it by using a settings.dat file that has it enabled (and the performance may not be great even if it does), but if you'd like to give it a try here is my settings file.
settings.zip
Remember to back up your settings.dat file first, just in case. If you don't mind losing your settings, you can always just delete the file and the game will re-create it with the defaults. Note that I've turned the music off in my game (as I listen to stuff in iTunes while working on roster updates) and the sliders may not be to your liking, so you'll have to make adjustments accordingly. Place it in the settings folder found under NBA Live 2005 in your Documents.
