The console versions' gameplay is identical to the PC version's, so any slider suggestions for the PC version are suitable for the PS2. I'm sure a lot of the sets posted have been devised on one of the console versions.

Great!!! I'll try your sliders and I'll give you a feedback on it goes on the PS2. :D

edit: The sliders were great, I change few of it. I never played Superstar before, today was my first day. It was kind of hard to play against the computer. They still get blocks and steals, even though their chance of doing that is 0.

to all the poeple who have problems with high scoring games......i have a suggestion..slow your offense down.......work your way till 8 seconds to the clock.......and lastly control the games tempo.....to your favor......

that is all

i usually average about 82 ppg in 9 minutes per quarter.......so my cpu opponent seldom make their way to the 100 century mark (Y)

A couple, so far so good. I'll post them soon, after I've played a few more games with them.

TESTED with PLAYER LOCK ON best player on team i.e. Mcgrady, Kobe, or Shaq
Difficulty = Superstar
Quarter Length = 12 minutes

I don’t really play as Centers or Shaq very much, so User settings may be too high for inside scorers (Shaq, Yao Ming, etc.)

Any immediate feedback would be nice, but you might want to settle with these settings for a while trying out the various teams and star roles
I noticed that these settings are kind of similar to paradizecityz settings

NOTES: Tested through several games, but I always find something to change. So all settings could be personally adjusted to your heart’s content
You’ll need to work hard to get scores sometimes i.e. running through screens as Reggie Miller (or any SG)
Learn to handle Freestyle Off-ball controls
When your team gets a loose ball, RUN allows for more fastbreak chances
Set Picks and Freestyle picks for the PG
Using spacing-passing to exploit the double team
When your star subs out, you’ll sometimes get a nice performance out of the bench player or nothing, I find a good shooter always helps (Piatkowski on Chicago for instance)

Global Sliders

Game Speed: + or - 38 since I’m a 12 min qtr guy, its an ok speed
Free Throw Difficulty: + or - 65 I found 60 too easy for stars like Kobe
Boundary Force Field: 0 Not important, more TO’s with feet outside
Injury Frequency: 55 Players often return to the game anyway
Fatigue Effect: 44 An experimental number
Charge/Block Foul Frequency: 100 I like seeing a foul on rough contact
Shooting Foul Frequency: 33 Experimental, I average 15-30 fouls a game
Reach-in Foul Frequency: 50 Useful for raising fouls without free throws
In-air Collision Foul Frequency: 60 Nice round number, adjust to your liking

User Sliders-As in Only You

User Steal Ability: 45 Tried to find a good hand check/steal ratio
User Interception Ability: 12 Guard the passing lane to get some steals
User Shot Block Ability: 5 Adjustable
User Dunk/Lay-up Block Ability: 30 Adjustable
User Freestyle Effectiveness: 60 “”
User Dunk vs. Lay-up Frequency: 40 “”
User Substitution Frequency: 97 This came from paradizecityz, great call
User On-ball Defense Assist: 50 Adjustable
User Offensive Rebounding: 60 Most shots are grabbed with avg. 35-50 rebs
User Defensive Rebounding: 90 “”
User Fakeout Discipline: 97 Its tuff to guard 1 v 1 depending on player
User Short Range Shooting: 57 Supposed to be the star player, gotta be good
User Medium Range Shooting: 57 “”
User Long Range Shooting: 57 “”
User Dunk Percentage: 70 “”
User Lay-up Percentage: 75 “”
User Adjusted Shot Percentage: 57 “”
User On-ball Defense: 43 Adjustable
User Poor Release Shot Percent: 57 Star Player
User Double-team Effectiveness: 75 For tougher defense
User Pro Hop Effectiveness: 30 Standard number for many other sliders
User Drop Step Effectiveness: 42 Not too important

CPU Sliders-You’re Opponent AND You’re Teammates

CPU Steal Ability: 45 Better stealing teams may rack 10-14
CPU Interception Ability: 10 “”
CPU Shot Block Ability: 0 Almost impossible to lower blks per game
CPU Dunk/Lay-up Block Ability: 15 Adjustable
CPU Freestyle Effectiveness: 40
CPU Dunk Frequency: 35 Adds to junk tip-in rebs in real games
CPU Substitution Frequency: 97 This came from paradizecityz, great call
CPU Offensive Rebounding: 60 Most shots are grabbed with avg. 35-50 rebs
CPU Defensive Rebounding: 90 “”
CPU Fakeout Discipline: 30 Adjustable, but only stars usually get by
CPU Short Range Shooting: 42 These shot ratings affect YOUR team too
CPU Medium Range Shooting: 45 “”
CPU Long Range Shooting: 48 “”
CPU Dunk Percentage: 70
CPU Lay-up Percentage: 40 To reduce high amounts of pts in the paint
CPU Adjusted Shot Percentage: 32 You’ll see a lot of garbage shots in the paint
CPU Adjusted Shot Frequency: 55 Lessens the Automatic feel of pc shooting
CPU On-ball Physical Defense: 43 Adjustable
CPU Poor Release Shot Percent: 40 “”
CPU Double-team Effectiveness: 75 For tougher defense
CPU Pro Hop Effectiveness: 50 Useful for cpu penetration into paint
CPU Drop Step Effectiveness: 50 this stat hardly matters

Some more notes on these settings
Faster-paced and more talented teams may score higher
Teams like Dallas are tough to keep under 100 pts per game while mediocore teams like Chicago and Washington can duke it out at 80-90 range

Shooting fouls depend on how aggressive the offense is, Dallas can get up to 30 Free throws while Chicago 15-20 on a quite game

You might find that junk tip-ins don't go in enough, but I like to think of it as the Mark Madsen effect where an unskilled guy can't even make a basket.

If you're having trouble scoring, dump it into the big man and try finding space to shoot outside shots, since your shot ratings are higher

If you're playing as the big man, well I don't know what to tell you yet.

under 100 is pretty darn good, is it due to the Game Speed down 32?

With the settings im running now, the main eyesore stats are assists 14-19 while nba avg 22-25
Obviously blocks, anywhere from 5-20, nba avg is 5 blks a game-seems like tall teams get all the blocks, and shorter teams yield more realistic numbers

Im going through an early playoff matchup with Houston and Dallas, most games went over 100 for both teams, however, Dampier was out, and Yao Ming had an easy time.

well under 100 keys in on many things, because i have made further tweaks, i am able to do this

as for blocks, i havent notice my avgs on those, assist for me and computer are normal, around 20ish, points, well i told you about that, shots per game are even realistic now, i been managing around 70-90 at most

For All-star games, the closest thing you could get would be to change your ACTION sliders for the game and use the updated NLSC all-star teams in exhibition(Play Now)

The only things ive tried to do were toning down stuff like dunks and slowing down the game so its not 150-150 all the time.

I have used andrews sliders for superstar 12 min quarters, and they are great except for one thing, free throw attempts, in the games ive played (5) I average 6 FT attempts, and my opponents average 1 a game. How can this be rectified for realism?

turn up some fouls, like reach in fouls and so forth, dont turn it all the way up, make it realistic

I've turned up the foul sliders myself (I'm just about ready to post some updates to my sliders), that's a definite problem with the settings I've been recommending so far.
