Remember Last Year

Postby Pirate on Wed Oct 08, 2003 1:27 am

Do you all remember how all these boards got so built up with excitement not so different from this year... and we were all let down by Live 2003. Granted there was a year layoff, but I just don't want to get excited to see the CPU hitting 80% of their shots and running up the floor like track stars.

Just trying to bring us back down so that we might not be let down...

Still all said Live 2004 does look great. :?:

idd tony (y), i still believe the tempo of 2004 is just a little too high but the field goal % seems to be lowered, plus we have sliders to adjust, even they have little influence i will still be pleased, and every game has it flaws(which cant be fixed, like stupid AI :P )

Righto I forgot about the sliders, I actually liked 2001 the best, but there are some highlights for this year... I just hope there isn't the back lash like there was last year, swimming through complaint after complaint on this board was annoying...

And Tony I think by the number of Amazing Mods you and the nbalive.org group did we see how much you liked 2003 and thankyou for making that game playable...

I enjoyed live 2003 as well, the graphics were the best I've seen. The gameplay was ok but it looks like 2004 will be the best of the best so far. l
Live 2000 pc still holds the crown for best gameplay though, that's until i play 2004 though.

The level of customisation in NBA Live 2004 (ie sliders) means even if we're not happy with certain elements of the ganeplay, we can tweak them without touching the ratings. Plus what we've seen so far is reason for optimism. No doubt we won't like everything and some things will be missing, but we can't expect a perfect game - we can expect an excellent game, the best game of the series and a huge improvement on Live 2003, but unless it's Solitaire or Freecell, further enhancements can be made.

With sliders I might finally get the game I've been wanting since 1994. :(
