Basket Ball operations are the top thing, but all the other EA games are getting ticket prices and concession stand stuff with them, so Live will certainly follow that trend sooner or later.
I've said it to my friends many times that if they could combine the games into one. Like taking NHL 2003 UI and using it in Live 2003, well that would certainly be a better game already.
Live coming a step behind is a good thing. The balancing of all the ticket prices is hard and takes a lot of work, but it is basically quite the same in all the sports... So EA could easily make a good financial engine (of sorts) after it's been tested in other games.
NBA has always been more intresting player managementwise then hockey games. You have your salary cap, you have your contract negotiations and you have role players... Trading players is a little more complex then in NHL-games so it's always been a little more intresting. The AI just needs to smarten up a bit and have those superstars sign one year deals with the teams they played with and not just have them on the open market (with minimum pay) when the season starts. That's just unrealistic.
I wouldn't mind financial stuff, as long as it was easy to manage and you really couldn't make too much gain or loss with it. It is a bad thing if you can take your team to the unemployment office with some bad choices... And there should be some sort of advice to go along with it other then something written in a manual.
