Exactly what I was thinking. These previews don't seem to have any textures. I'm sure they'll be there for the final product.
As far as I know it's easier to work on 3D objects such as players in games with minimal/basic textures, and then put all the detail in afterwards.

I don't think EA would show us completed graphics just yet. I think it gives them leverage (marketing?) by "surprising" us when the game is out how much better the graphics are in game compared to these "poor" previews

also in one of the lebro shots, but the numbers are the same... there is a 7 and 22 in the lebron shot, and 7 and 22 in the gp shot and those are different stadiums :(

I think that the graphics won't be their main pre-release surprise. I think they will tell us what the dynasty mode will have to really get the anticipations up and people into the stores. The dynasty will rule Live 2004 and the game will live or die accordingly.

I think they are going to surprise us all with an in-depth look at the dynasty mode!

And the graphics will look good when in motion... I don't see what was the big fuss about retired jerseys and all... When do you see them??? Like never maybe? And all the adds and roof lights and all. Okay it looks more real, but it has always looked real enough. I know you people are going to tear me apart for this, but this new arena improvement is just the kind of glitz and glamour that really isn't worth all the trouble cause it doesn't effect the game in any way... I'd like better gameplay instead or a better franchise or even those custom teams/create a team features are better then graphics improvements.

I think everyone who has mentioned that the finished product always looks pretty nice has summed it up fairly accurately. If all the previews were talking about unrealistic gameplay but showed impressive screenshots, we would be disappointed.

That's not to say the graphics shouldn't be realistic and impressive, but if a few of the cyberfaces in the finished product aren't quite right, it's not as big a deal as the quality of the gameplay and features.

no, it's the same arena. In both of those the Cavs are the home team.

It will be interesting to see if those banners are just decoration, or whether they have an impact on the game (ie retired numbers cannot be selected, numbers can be retired). My guess is it's just decoration, but it certainly gives an authentic feel. (Y)

I don't think the graphics are bad at all. At first I thought it looks bad but when I saw the game play videoclip, they look pretty realistic.
The only shortcoming (for me at least) is that all the players look a bit too short and pudgy

Wow, that looks like my old fleer basketball card. Actually it's called skybox or something i can't remember.

It will be cool if it was some hidden feature that somehow leaked out to that guy. But too many ppl are cheating nowadays... especially on ebay.
