Dynasty Mode Preview Video

In case you haven't seen the news page over on the main site...

We've been able to get our hands on a preview video of NBA Live 2004's Dynasty Mode. Not only will Dynasty Mode feature some cool new cut-scenes for the draft and player trades, you'll also be able to watch players as they train with fitness and skills coaches. Yes, the countdown has started... I am anxious of NHL 2004, but I'm excited about NBA Live 2004.

I just can't wait to get my hands on NHL to tear apart the entire dynasty mode. To see what could I expect from the Live game. Live does not have a dynasty as deep as NHL, but I believe it to be along the same lines. This year will be sweet...

This year, EA will leave SEGA eating it's dust... At least I hope so... EA's got something to prove. The natives have been getting restless with the last couple of releases and I'm hoping the boys creating this game know it too. We need to be pleased every now and then... Otherwise companies like SEGA might steal some of us away.

I just noticed one thing, while I was looking at the video back and forth... The scene from the rookie draft when W.Dent gets up and walks to Stern, well there are 30 teams on the board! I mean 30!!! There are only 29 teams in the league aren't there? At least before Bobcats come in a year from now...

The demo has 30 teams on the dynasty mode... So either the bobcats are in the game far more in depth then we know, or you can create a team in the game... Well, which ever it is, it's going to be great.

I bet the Charlotte Bobcats will be in the game... Somehow.

The 30th spot just has the NBA logo though. The Bobcats are only going to be available in Exhibition Mode...although if the DBF files are as patcher-friendly as Live 2003, it shouldn't be too difficult to get them into Dynasty Mode. The 30th spot on the draft board could be like the custom art folder - it exists for our convenience.

That video was short and sweet ...and the players dont at all look like midgets in those videos either or any of the other gameplay videos ive seen. They only seem to appear that way in the screenshots which i guess can be attributed to camera angle and such. Looks like live will be a killer :cool:

...and by the way did yall see the blocking animations ? and the turn around jumper ? hopefully those are actually in the game.

Reggie & Colin, you just aren't waiting long enough. In that screengrab of fileplanet you'll notice that the IE progress bar at the bottom is still going. the site pings the file servers to get the right numbers for people in line, wait times, etc,., and this sometimes takes longer than the rest of the page to load. Be patient.
