Different Versions, Console Port Adaptation,..??

Hi. I played NBA Live 2004 earlier then i uninstalled game. Today i downloaded a torent file from p2p which is also NBA Live 2004. However it is not exactly the game i played earlier.

The differences i have noticed:
- The button you assigned to Backdown/Protect Ball in offense had another functionality in defense, it was used to Defend/Face-up the opponent. You had to use this button to face up your opponents with your own player in the game when you are defending. This feature dont exist in the game I downloaded today.

- The rosters are different. Earlier I played New Jersey Nets no K-Mart, no Mourning. But in the game I downloaded later these players are included in NJN roster.

- Game mechanics are different: The game I played later resembles much more to NBA Live 2003, players are sliding on the court, etc.

So are there different versions of this game or port adaptations which are different?
