Live interview at IGN

Discussion about NBA Live 2004.

Perhaps they will, now that they result in reward points for Dynasty Extras. I'd like to see double doubles and triple doubles in the Stats/League Leaders screen.

I dont want to be the pessimist but for all we know, they improved these elements in gameplay(which for me is already great :) ), but for the rest of the time they just spend way too much time on unnecessary details like the shoe shop(ok its cool but i can live without this)and make cinematics, cutscenes are cool about five times and then thats it, but making this stuff eats time too u know, so dont expect too much i would say, dont lose hope either but u know what im trying to say. About the interview, looks great, i almost got scared the defense would be so good the game would be immensely difficult to play :) , gotta agree with ramsey though, jumping is a little too high imho but it doesnt really bother me that much

That's a valid point. The higher our expectations, the greater our disappointment if our expectations aren't met. We have to be optimistic while remaining realistic - that way we aren't as disappointed with small details and we don't talk ourselves out of liking the game before we even play it.

WetSis: i don't want tim duncans head touching the rim when he goes for a block. jumping has always been a problem - the defender going for the block always seems to jump 2 times as high as the offender shooting the ball.

Sounds great...

..about the shoes...thats a nice addition for the console world but us pc gamers aren't really againing anything. Those shoes they do for the game are going to be repatched anyway...and new ones are going to be made. I wont be spending my earning points buying shoes when i can photoshop um myself.

Yea thats true yohance but i like the idea of being able to pretty much assign the right shoes to any player right off the bat esp the ones that arent so popular. Sure We always patch the stars but in 2003 it was tedious to assign the right shoes to every player in the league through creating folders in the render thing. Now with the nike liscence and such maybe logos and banners will be even more realistic in game because they can actually use true respresentation. I assume in the coming years they will acquire gatorade liscences, sprite etc. especially because EA is such a big brand in the video game world. It just more authenticates the game imo, as long as nike doesnt start monopolizing it all like they do everything else.

I love the fact that they brought back real pics for stats in the game! Now I can put my mug along with my cyberface in the game. I hope we can use that editor like MVP baseball PC, where we can manipulate the headshape --so our cyberfaces will look on point. For live 2003, I could not find a good headshape to save my life. But for live 2000 PC, my cyberface was on point. (Yes, I used the same headshape for 2000 as for 2003 and still didn't come out right)

Some things I hope to see (patching wise):
1. the abiltiy to use more than 1 fsh file for faces and have the cpu randomly pic a different fsh each game ala Rodman and Iverson for Live 2000 PC--this is so we can give Ivy some differnt cornrows, Ben Wallace cornrows one game and an afro the next etc..

2.Bring back customizable ditties--I've got so many real ingame music on my HD--it's not funny. It added so much to the atmosphere in Live 2000PC

any others?

I'm hoping that you can delete a player without messing up the pointer to the audio files. That caused a few problems when updating the rosters in Live 2003.

I see NHL2004 has a salary cap. Would NBALive2004 feature that mode in dynasty with real NBA salary caps? That would help out the reality feel for the game so much. Whenever I play franchise mode Live2003, I keep thinking about a way to convert the points into real salary cap. Sorry if this sounds normal for u guys. I play 2003 on my PS2 (yes I am missing out and will pick up 2004 on PC  ) and it's pretty limited. Let me know if this salary cap issue will pan out...thankx in advance :D

by the did you read that there will be cinematics in dynasty mode(which is cool). Also anybody knows if the intro is ingame or real NBA(you got what i mean?).

Anyway, dynasty looks like it'll probably be very good. I like the features, I just hope I'm not forced to hire a FT coach in order to compete.
