Official patch won't install

I get the following message as soon as I try and install EA's official patch:

"Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match."

I need the patch installed so that I can run the NCAA mod...please help

You need an original copy of the NBA2004.EXE in your game folder for the patch to install.
